Hi, I was diagnosed vaginitis, lab tests showed that it was caused by andida albicans. And my doctor prescribed me Femizole-7. What are other possible targets of this fungus? How can I prevent further infections?
You have misspelled the fungus, it’s Candida albicans. It is normally present on skin surface and in some mucous membranes like vagina. Problem starts when other bacteria are destroyed by an antibiotic for example, and Candida albicans can spread. Or it can be without any apparent reason. The result is candidiasis or yeast infection. It can cause vaginitis, manifesting in white discharge followed by itching and burning. If it gets to the blood, it could affect other organs like heart valves or intestines. Antimicotics are used in treatment of infections by the fungus. If you treat the infection locally usually, it will not be able to invade other organs and become systemic infection.
