same thing has happened to me. My urethra feels itchy ... all of a sudden.
I have only had sex with my girl friend. Haven't mentioned it to her yet. I started all of a sudden. Now there are some other issues that might have caused it other than STD ( which would mean she is messing around ).
1. Start going to the steam room every night in the YMCA .. of course naked ... could be some germs in there. I never thought about that beforehand.
2. I caught a cold, flu or whatever right before I started to experience this problem.
3. I am 54 so maybe prostate issue ...
----
It kind of tickles .. a thickly sort of feeling in my Urethra .. BUT VERY ANNOYING

Herpes? yes i think so.it has many ways it shows itself and theres many strains of it.i think it has to do with the nerves its traveling down. u might have some herpes inside your urethra that u cant see and also herpes kills nerves and causes permanent damage where youll get that itchy or sudden peircing feeling in your penis from time to time.herpes has several stages also .the strain of herpes and the how the persons body reacts to it makes a difference.everyone is different some people just carry it and spread it with never having a sign they are infected with hsv-2.you can also get herpes on your penis from someone who has a cold sore on there mouth.. 90% of the world population has some strain of herpes i read researching this

herpes usualy shows up every 3 months and can be brought on by a flu or cold ,it usually shows up when the immune system is weakened by cold.flu, dental work, certain kings of food and stress and theres no frikkin cure brothas when self diagnosed myself with it i wanted to die then kill her then dedicate my life to making the cure but even if i did cure it the gov would stop me.. no monie in cures just treatments and endless medication.. there r promises of a cure soon but i doubt its true

so i was just curious about this topic because i just masturbated a few times more than my average in a day and had that feeling. its not the first time i have this itchy feeling, but i do know that after a day it goes away. and similar to what i read above about 'scratching' the itch by pinching, it's the same kind of feeling. im guessing its more of an irritation of the urethra from the fluid coming out or something. but if u 'scratch' it starts to have a similar effect of a mosquito bite (it soothes for the moment... and then starts itching right after, with a mildly stronger itch). im guessing the pinching is helping to irritate further. if this case matches anyone elses.. not sure what the deal is. but it goes away for me after a day (somtimes a lil more depending on how much i over exerted myself and so long as i don't keep 'scratching').

I seem to find that if I am very sexually active the inside of my penis gets a little itchy for a day. This is active with myself. Then yesterday I came and when I did it burned. After that it has been very itchy on the inside. It still is today. I have been working outside a lot and I have been sweating out in the sun every day so my hygiene is bad until I get home to take a shower. I was a lazy bum this weekend and didn't take a shower for 2 days. So i'm thinking either I got and infection from my poor hygiene or I have just inflamed my urethra. I'm not worried about STDs since i'm not messing around. Any thoughts?

Midas81,

You may be right that this is what's going on with you.
I might try something along the lines of a dab of petroleum jelly or vasoline on the tip of the glans...specifically, on the meatus (hole) or in the opening of the urethra. If that's where the itch is, you can reach it externally....

But if you have a sensation that is running up the urethra and deep... I would go see a medical clinic or a doctor, as it may be a sign of an infection.

I'm not sure I understand why you say you might be a lazy bum and lay around, not showering for two days or so... if it's that hot, and you're sweaty, I would think you might WANT to treat yourself to a shower or clean up before bed.
But perhaps you are paying the price...

You don't tell us much about HOW you masturbate, so there's a lot of unknown here... so much so that I can't venture a guess to what you might have done that might irritate the ureathra. But I can tell you that if I use too much soap, or allow it in or across the ureathra I can have a painful sting, especially when urinating, for a day or so. That's when I reach for the vasoline to help soethe that irritated delicate skin.

Let us know what you determine, ok?

"Excess" sexual activity and prostate problems seem to be a vailid answer to the itchy urethra problem. I was experiencing some prostate problems so I went on Cipro antibiotic for 20 days. I started feeling better and I started to masturbate daily. Then I got the infamous itchy sensation in my urethra that can be soothed by squeezing and rolling my penis beteween my finger and thumb. Perhaps the frequent masturbation expelled some bacteria that were harboured in my prostate. I understand that prostate massage without an antibiotic can also cause urinary infections for the same reason. Guys' plumbing is more complicated than I once thought. The prostate can harbour bacteria and viruses while the rest of the system behaves normally. Aggravate the prostae and the bugs are expelled into the urinary system. I would have expected the Cipro to have destroyed them.

It doesn't even have to be a lot of sexual activity, I can tell you that it can be caused by a great deal of masturbation too and that will cause some prostate issues. Thanks for offering some insight though. I think it's a helpful guide that you've provided here.

I'm a 24 yr old male in very good health, but for a few days now I've had an itchy sensation inside my urethra. There is very little discharge; sometimes clear, sometimes white. There is no visible changes, there is no pain at all and nothing noticeably obtrusive when i urinate, also it doesn't really seem to be bothersome and i forget about it from time to time. I am a very clean person, and have always used protection during intercourse ...And nothing unconventional.
I'm not sure what could have caused this, could this be some type of irritation, infection, or something worse? I also started drinking a lot of water to try and keep the passage clean and maybe flush the bacteria out, if there is any. I am very worried.
Thank you in advance for your response.

That sounds like a urinary tract infection. I would defnitely recommend getting to a doctor soon, as that is not going to heal itself. And get some antibiotics. Does that help?

Don't be alarmed about itching so much as this can be very normal in active men. When treated and the problem with itching persists, then this could be issues with digestion. Sounds interesting but true. Diets high in calcium tend to produce crystals and this is hard for the body to process, thus passing in to your urine. The Western diet consists of many preservatives that the body cannot and will not break down and causes serious damage. Remember that YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT! No joke. Eating p***y can be harmful if it's the wrong one. I lost my gualbladder over two years ago and had to learn much about Naturopathic Medicine. This has become a huge study of mine. I've now treated many friends and family, curing many and changing many lives.

I am A 31/m who has been married for several years but have had itching in my urethra only after ejaculation mainly after masturbation and sometimes sex. I t mainly itchies at the base of my penis. I am monogomus and have not had any anal sex with a woman in a very long time but have had the itching problem for many years and just have been dealing with it was seen by a urologists before and had a full std work up and a scope put down my penis with known findings so i have been dealing with it. I just wondered if i was the only one dealing with this specific type of itching only after ejacultaion especially masturbation. I have no frequent urination or burning while urinating unless i have itched the c**p out of my penis before hand and then i expect it to burn a little from all the itching. Let me know if anyone else is or has experience the same problem.

Hi I'm 33, and a little over a month ago, I had unprotected sex with my GF. I have also had sex a few times with one other woman, as recently as 3-4 months ago. Prior to the aforementioned session with my GF, I had been masturbating a little too often, and had caused myself an abrasion on the top of my penis, just below the head. This made the sex slightly uncomfortable but I was still able to cum. A couple of days afterwards, I noticed the abrasion was not scabbing over like it had before. Instead it remained an open sore. I began experiencing very painful burning when urinating and a slight almost-semen-like discharge from the tip, most notably in the mornings. I did some research and made a self-diagnosis of gonorrhea. I intended to go to the doctor, but after a few days the sore started healing, the burning urination subsided, and there was no more discharge. I figured my body was developing a natural anti-body to the disease, so I never went to the doctor. The major symptoms have been gone for about a week now, but now I'm getting a very itchy urethra (under the head, just down from the tip) along with a moderate anal itching. Can I expect these symptoms to go away on their own like the other ones did? Or does this problem tend to stick around when untreated?

For most of the posters...this is a Prostate infection. It comes and goes forever. You might get one big infection, and this will give you a mild fever, back pain, painful urination, itchy penis. Use advil or any ibuprofen.

The urine tests will come back negative..the std tests will be negative..you will freak out for weeks...

There is actually a bunch of things going on.

You probably have a yeast infection as well.

Try these few things..AFTER seeing a doctor and getting all the tests..

For 1 Week try ...

Using monistat...buy the tube ...use it all over the penis and scrotum..and lymph nodes on the sides. Every day -twice a day
Stop eating sugar, carbs, ..stop drinking coffee, sodas, sweetened juice, alcohol...for 1 week minimum
Eat yogurt..
Take ibuprofen 3-4 times a day.
Stop masturbating every day..for one week..maybe just once. Try using a condom, no lubrication. Try masturbating after applying monistat.
Don't sit down for too long...try kneeling in front of the computer.
Take a bath

Work up to masturbating every 2 days..after a week or 2... but only after 30 min to 1 hour after urinating...drink water before/during masturbating..

try to apply monistat afterwards.

Good Luck
