I have the same symptoms but I'm really not worried about it, and neither should (most of) you guys. Hear me out guys here we go: 1. The weird urethra itch 2. Interesting sensation urinating 3. Recently had unprotected sex Week after sex: I noticed the symptoms. 1-1/2 weeks after: Her Dr finds a UTI It's been a few weeks now and it's beginning to go away, as expected. Its a UTI of the urethra and, for some of you, made it to your prostate. So for alot of you that get around, this probably WAS sexually transmitted to you, but it's not a disease. Its an STI haha. Other symptoms of UTIs are: Cloudy urine (a few of you had this I believe) Burning urination Difficult urination Frequent urination Fever (if it's reached kidneys) Leaking urine So guy, cancel your divorces and breakups and get some antibiotics if you're worried. While you're there double up the dose bc your wife/gf will need some too when she notices her yeast infection, UTI, kidney stones, whatever infection yall are sharing. And boys: stop masturbating so much you're irritating this inflammation. Haha jk I don't care!

Its a UTI, not necessarily an STD. Take Septra 800mg twice a day for 3 days. If the itch continues, see your doctor.

To avoid this, tell your girl friend to shower regularly and always clean up after sex. All the genitalia discharge can fester microbes if left to sit after sex.

Hi,
I'm 18 and have been having the same problem.  I haven't sex in a month.  We were unprotected and we were both clean.  I'm having some discharge.  Is this an infection that can go away or what?  I started feeling it after I brought home a sick kitten.

know what? i've had this same problem a couple of times in my life and each time i've though: oh c**p, i've got an STD!

and every time it turned out to be an irritation caused by having (no kidding) BLACK UNDERWEAR, the dye of which can irritate the urethra, especially in people who have sensitive skin like i do, and by having washed my laundry with too much detergent, or detergent that has dyes and fragrance.

you might resolve your problem by washing all your underwear with a TINY amount of "free and clear" detergent. sometimes it takes two washings with a TINY amount of detergent to get the bad stuff out of there.

also: consider buying white boxers----no dyes, and they produce less friction against the urethral meatus.

I at times experience an itch after a vigorous sexual activity. The degree of the itch seems to vary with the amount of sex but if I stay sexually inactive it somehow goes away. Urethra itching may be caused by:-

Sexual activity such as Sex or masturbation

Poor hygene

Yeast Infections

Urinary Tract Infection

If the itch continues for so long or it is accompanied by other symptoms like discharge, its good to see a doctor.

I am a woman of 59 years of age. A couple of weeks ago, I started having this itchy and tickling sensation in my urethra. I have been to the MD and have been given Doxy for 10 days and Cipro for 7 days. She sent the urine out for culture for ureaplasma. This is a very tiny microorganism in the Mycoplasma family. I hope this works becuase it is driving me right up a wall! I am in a monogamous relationship and so is my man.

Success story!!!! I was one of the people that thought this as a just yeast infection. I took antifungal meds (fluconazole) and that seemed to help. Actually both me and my girlfried took it. The problem was that the itch seem to always come back after a couple of weeks. I always thought: oh well, maybe we just have to take it for a bit longer for it to clear completely. The problem is that we tried a number of times, like three times, and it seemed to always come back. Then we took azithromycin thinking that it may be chlamydia and it helped again. But the itch eventually came back. Now before you tell me that I forgot to also give the meds to her other boyfriend...LOL, let me asure you that we are both commited and monogamous. She divorced her highschool sweetheart to whom she was married for over 10 years, and then had a boyfried who turned out to be a 'player' and she dumped him. So from the start when I expressed that I was having symptoms she was just as worried as I was and we just blamed it or her prior relationship. Before being with her I had been in a monogamous relationship and never had a single problem like this itch. After continuing to worry and read about this problem and noticing yet other symptoms I had missed before in addition to the itch, like a fishy odor on my penis glans before bathing, gross! I know, I decided to take metronidazole thinking that it could be Gardnerella or Trichomonas. Now let me digress for a moment here, the antibiotics created another problem for her, it aparently killed off the good bacteria in her vagina and she developed a yeast infection in her first menstrual cycle after the metronidazole, fortunately that cleared up with the help of a single dose Fluconazole in a few days. Well I'm happy to report that we've been odor- and itch-free for more than 3 months now!!! Our sex life has improved greatly. The itch was definitely getting in the way of pleasure before. I can honestly say that having had that itch during sex near the tip was a huge distraction and having it the morning after inside the urethra was bad also. An iteresting note, taking the fluconazole was actually helpful in another way: my rotten yellow nail fell off and a new healthy nail has grown in its place now. Hope this helps.

So you cured this with the fluconazole? Can you elaborate? It's confusing because you said you tried it and it wasn't working, but then at the end you said it was what cured it. Seems promising, just not sure what actually fixed it. Thanks!
