Hi, I've been taking birth control pills for quite a while now but recently we realized that my pills were getting me sick so I switched to a new brand. I've only been on it for a week now and I had sex yesterday and the spermicidal condom broke and the sperm was able to get inside me. Not only this but I've been on Ammoxicillin, an antibiotic. I want to know if the antibiotic will mess with the effectiveness of my pill and if I buy an Emergency Contraceptive pill, will it ruin it to?
Yes Any antibiotic will alter the effects of birth control. It can weaken the effects of the pill. I'm not doctor but thats what they told me and what I've heard and read about.
