Hi,

A few days ago my parter and I got hold of some weed. Having not smoked in months and being under a fair amount of stress, I decided to have a cone. After a little while I started having a panic attack which landed me in the hospital. Since then, over the last couple of days I just haven't felt myself. I can't focus on anything, I don't want to leave the house, I'm unmotivated, my thoughts are scattered and I'm not sleeping well. I went back to the doctor today and she just told me to eat well, get plenty of exercise and try and get loads of sleep. I left feeling like my questions wasn't answered, WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME!? After reading various articles and forums I've begun to think I may have developed an anxiety disorder, but I'm not certain.

I'm so frightened that I've done some permanent damage.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Does it get better?

Help me, please!!

Yes this has happened to me before actually twice. When I was younger and before I even knew what a panic attack felt like I experienced one 10 minutes after smoking. The second time this happened I had already been diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder and had a panic attack after smoking again, needless to say I learned my lesson the second time and never put that stuff to my lips again. I have had other people tell me that weed has caused the same issues with them also. Yes it does get better sometimes on its own and sometimes with the help of therapy or anti anxiety meds or a combination of the two. I suggest -if you can- that you see a therapist and dont let this anxiety get the best of you like I did for years. Good luck and I will be checking back to see how things are going for you.
