I'm also allergic to paracetamol. I get sweaty and dizzy and feel awful. It took me a few years to work out that it was the paracetamol as I rarely take them and just had these odd occasions when i felt really unwell. I now take Nurofen if I have to take anything.

hello Rajaraman, all kinds of pain killers (relievers) are bad for kidneys.... even one of the famous doctor here in Philippines (Dr.Willy Ong) said taking much pain killers are bad for kidneys. i'm also allergic to paracetamol, mefenamic acid, midol, aspirin, and unluckily when i underwent myf first major operation, in the middle of my recovery in the hospital, the last option of pain killer that they thought it fits me, also reacts on me. swelling of my eyes, and lips. (tramadol) but they injected me immidiately the anti allergy (antihistamine)... so my internal medicine doctor told me to have a test for allergies... which i will do soon, when icome back to hospital. so whenever i had flu, all i have to do is more intake of water, cold compress all over my body to lessen the heat.

consult doctor and they will do the test... from which medicines (particulary pain killers) u are allergy. and not to take them all.at all.... same as me... but i didn't yet come back to hosp for a test

My symptoms are the same. I was fine with paracetamol up until my mid twenties. Now when I take it my airways swell up making breathing more difficult, my nose and eyes run and I start coughing and spluttering. I always keep some antihistamines (hayfever tablets) in the house because these are the best antidote.

Exactly the same response here. I rarely took it through childhood, taking aspirin instead and when I was 20 bought some Lemsip. I thought it was that until I took a paracetamol. I forgot and took one again a few years later, and now I have it on all my emergency records in case next time it causes more severe anaphalaxis.

Whenever I take paracetamol I get hives on my skin, sooooo itchy! (I also have a fish allergy, eczema and asthma, don't know if they're related).

This only started two years ago ath the age of 17, and I'm unsure what caused it, but ibuprofen does the trick

I've been using Paracetamol for years now. But suddenly I feel I'm allergic to this drug immediately after taking Paracetamol continuous cough occurs and it's becomes difficult for me to breath. I realised lately that whatever proportion of Paracetamol I take it's the same.
I do not know if somebody faced the similar problem. Is there any alternative drug for high fever?

paracetamol allergic may try aspirin / disprin . this is also anti pyretic, but always take after food. better disolve it before taking in a galss filled with half water. then drink with plenty of water. avoid too much consuming, it is known to produce acidity and peptic ulcers, if consumed for long time in high doses.

other altrenatives are

NSAID group

non steroid anti inflamatory drugs like

these are high anti inflamatory low anti pyretic drugs

always take after meal with plenty of water

ibuprofen ( it may produce Stevens Jonson's Syndrome)
Diclofenac sodium , (compartavly safe)

Acelofenac sodium

I'm allergic to it, i used to be fine with it but then i took a paracetamol overdose last year (there were alot of things going on) and ever since then my body wont handle paracetamol at all and ill have overdose type symptoms (vomiting, diorreah and rash) if i do have it. Ive also been allergic to the capusles of any tablet (gelatin i think) and sulfer based medications both of which give me a rash
