I have been getting pains in my left side, right at the bottom of my ribs. My sister just had to get her appendix removed, because of the appendicitis, so now I’m scary that I’ve been having appendicitis. What are the symptoms? Please!

Appendicitis is inflammation of the appendix and it is in the lower right side of the abdomen. Since your pain is on the left side therefore I doubt that you have appendix issues. But if you really need to know symptoms of appendicitis, here they are: pain in the RIGHT side of the abdomen, nausea, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal swelling…not everyone has all the symptoms. Just in case see a doctor about it.

There are two types of appendicitis, one is chronic and second is acute appendicitis. Pretty much, symptoms are the same and only your doctor can determine which stage of appendicitis is in your case. But generally, appendicitis usually starts with a pain in the middle of your abdomen. As the times goes by, little by little this pain travels to your lower right-hand side, where the appendix is located. After this, this pain becomes something that doesn't abandon you. If you press it, this pain starts to be worse. Some of the other symptoms that you might have are:
- nausea,
- you are sick,
- you can't eat,
- you have diarrhea,
- you are dealing with fever, etc
Those are just some of symptoms, but they are most common and they can indicate to problems.
