Ok this may sound painful but works for genital herpes. I understand the pain that you can go through and that you might have tried everything out there to try to control your outbreaks. However nothing seams to be working and everyone is trying to sell you something that says it does. I know, I've been living with it for 10 years. The only thing that I've found that works great but is a bit of endurance for about an hour but stops the outbreaks and kepts the virus dormant for a long time is to slice a green jalapeño take the inside of it and apply it right to the infected area of the outbreak. The virus doesn't kike the hot burning feeling and kills it were it starts to manifest itself on the outbreak. It burns but the outbreak heals within 2-3 days and will not come up for a long time. My last outbreak was about 3 years ago got a cordisone shot this week and believe that caused another outbreak. I don't have any jalapeños however found a bottle of Capsaicin purchased at kike Walgreens, which chili is made out of and pit some on a qtip then applied it to the outbreak area. I really think this is a good positive thing in the way the virus reacts to this organic material and think they should study it more because of the way it reacts to the virus causing it to lay dormant for a longer period of time. Then if it surfaces up again apply it again. The virus does not like the interaction with it and will retreat to the furthest part in the nerves and lay dormant. It may take 2 or 3 times at first with in a few days to get the best results and again is pretty intense pain, but the burning and nerve pain a person feels from this virus is about the samething. Again it heals faster and leaves the virus dormant longer so it's worth it for me to burn a bit and feel normal again in the long run of time not just in months but year(s).

What if it is presenting in the ear? Mine started 2 months ago, Doctor misdiagnosed it.. I am finally on Acyclovir.. But it has been 25 days since finally being diagnosed..The ringing is driving me insane..

try using hydrogen peroxide on and around the infected area. Herpes is a virus and peroxide kills viruses. fungus and bad bacteria. Use a cotton . It is the same for cold ball and rub on the area twice a day. If you do this every day of your life you will never get another outbreak. Give this a few days to take effect. It is the same for cold sores, they will not return if you do this around your lips and mouth daily. Hydrogen peroxide is cheap to buy, try it and you"ll see.

Thank you! I have had my first outbreak for almost 3 months now. Only thing helps is vagisil. It burns soooo bad and itches to the point where I scratch blood. I'm tired and I just want it to stop.

I have the exact same type of issue. Its not a blister like a normal outbreak...Just an area of skin that's slightly red but itches and burns like crazy with the yellow/clear drainage seaping occasionally that will crust over. I've had it for over 6 months now even on antivirals. I'm starting to get very worried.

Hey I just wanted to tell you im the same. Nobody realises the severity of it. I cant walk and had to cancel seeing my parents who havnt even aknowledged ive been in hospital. My groin is swollen, my labia is 2x its natural size, my glands on my groin are sticking out like balls under my skin and my legs are numb. Im unable to sleep as the pain is so sever... I just lay there crying and taking pain killers. i now have shooting pains in my clit that are so weird it unbareable. i feel alone and very depressed. My meds arent doing much I still have new boils popping up - my ENTIRE genital area is covered....even down to my bum. Its much worse than any photos on Google and i was assured these were bad cases and not to look as itd just worry me. i can tell you - my lady parts look like Leather Face has been at it. Im covered in pus constantly its literally all over the area and i keep washing it off with tepid water and peeing in the shower.
I really sympathize with your pain - nothing is helping. I tried baking soda and it hurt so much i could barely stand.

So sorry you have been so miserable. Taking lysine supplements daily and giving up eating nuts has prevented outbreaks for me. Foods high in arginine cause outbreaks; and foods high in lysine help to prevent them. There is a chart online listing the lysine/arginine ratio of a long list of foods. You need to TRY to avoid stress, or manage it with plenty of sleep, a healthy diet and yoga/walking. Taking Valtrex during an outbreak helps end it sooner, but stops working if I take it daily as a preventative measure. I have had this illness for 13 years. My life has been quite stressful for a long period of time due to factors out of my control, and I have had an outbreak for over two months now that is similar to the initial one. My GYN NP prescribed Denavir (a cream for cold sores), and it works miraculously! Heals lesions the same day! It only cost $7 with our insurance, but we are without insurance for two months, as my husband has started a new job. We had to pay $650 for it two weeks ago, without insurance! I am trying to hold out one more week to have insurance again, and get this, or another med to help. Hang in there. I hope you are well now..
