Hi everyone - I've had "the herps" for almost 18 years. (And I'm female).
I want to tell all of you something that has helped me a lot. First of all, you should always have a tube of acyclovir ointment, if possible. It's expensive but very worth it.
Use that in conjunction with *extra virgin COCONUT oil PILLS*!!
You can find them almost anywhere. You have to take a lot of them, but it really helps. You'll actually FEEL it starting to help, & they seem to work better than anti viral pills! I'm 5' 3" & 115 pounds & I take 10 coconut pills as soon as I realize there's a problem, or if I've got reason to think an outbreak is possible; like, if I've had a fever, gotten too hot, or have been stressed.
(I normally take 5 a day, everyday, just to try to prevent outbreaks)...
So, yeah, take 10 (or more) at first sign of outbreak. Then, you can either take them throughout the day (several at a time; you can never take too many, so take as many as you want), just be sure to take them throughout the day, or with each meal. I usually start with 10 & go to 8 pills a dose, for the duration of the outbreak & take them at least 4 days after its gone. This has helped me WAY more than the anti viral pills did. I just use the coconut pills & apply the acyclovir ointment down there.
Another tip: this may sound very weird & gross, but your own earwax is like an antiviral ointment! I've never tried it on my vagina, because that's a little difficult & I don't have that much wax, lol, but if you get a sore on your mouth, buttocks, thigh, etc. it REALLY helps! It will heal a sore VERY quickly. It also keeps it from seeping. So, if you get a sore somewhere, put some of your earwax on it. Apply every chance you get, until you can see that the herpes is healing. Stores sell little tools to scrape the wax out of your ears. I use that & apply it to a clean Q-tip. This has totally worked on any sores I've applied it to. (I get herpes sores on my face, if I get a zit).
I hope this helps some, if not all of you!
Coconut oil pills, acyclovir ointment, and earwax!
There have been studies that show that herpes will reside in your inner ear! Check that out!
Good luck, people! I wish they'd find a CURE!

I'm going through a similar situation except I keep getting blisters on the head of my penis. My outbreak started on January 11, 2017. I have a blister on half of the head of my penis extending to the urethra opening. I was afraid to pee it hurt so bad. I read if you pee in warm water it helps the pain. It worked. Problem now is though that as the blister healed another one started on the other side of my penis head and a week after that on the tip. I've been on acyclovir since the first day of my outbreak. Doesn't seem to be helping too much. The pain comes in sharp spurts which causes bleeding. I'm really tired of the blood and discharge from the blisters not to mention pain. Today is February 20, 2017 and no new blisters. I've been applying neosporin to try and help healing process. Erections aggravate situation. Try to avoid anything that will stimulate. Thanks for posting. I thought I was the only one going through an extended outbreak.

Have you tried using an ointment with Lydocain? That's what helped me tons when I had the outbreak on the tip. It burns a little but then numbs it completely.
I've been having this outbreak since December:(
So far nothing has helped clear until now / Ive changed what I eat. No more fast food. No more fried foods. Eat Green and eat fruits. I even by the big bottles of Naked juices preferably the Green one you want it to contain Kale, lettuce, etc.
I figure it doesn't heal because I wasn't eating right.

I was diagnosed 10 years ago, the first out break was mainly itching but I felt so run down, I couldn't keep my eyes open. Through the years I have had minor outbreaks but it came with a vengeance a few weeks ago, slight tingling and a out break on my face and penis, I could handle the itching but it's the low mood, fatigue and anxiety that hits me, this has taken a good 4 weeks to start to pass. I do not like taking antiviral tablets so I looked for alternatives. The best by a long shot is curcumin 99, I started taking it and I felt better within a day, the blisters actually became smaller and have now faded. Curcumin stops the virus from replicating

What I will also say, is that stress has a huge role to play, I was moving and that was what caused mine. Also learn to look for the signs, and then jump on it quick

I've had herpes for about 20 years. When I take valtrex, I can only take it for 3 days. I have a sensitivity to the medication; after 3 days the headaches start...bad headaches. I've had an outbreak now that has been on/off for about a month. But, my stress level is high and has been. All this info helps, i'm not alone.

I am going through the same. I have had herpes for 10 yrs. I would go almost a full yr without an outbreak. But this November I had a outbreak that just hasn’t completely gone away. I finally went to the doc and he prescribed me a antiviral I ran through it and it did help. But as soon as I stopped taking it they came right back. I personally feel like this can be something else. But I’m not a doctor so I am going for a apt this Tuesday and I am hoping for good news as far as what the hell this is. It’s ruining my sex life with my wife and it’s really bringing me way down. I will post any new on what I come up with.
