Just wanted to add my name to the list. I'm 56 y.o. and 2 years ago, I came down with Bells Palsy exactly 72 hrs after getting the Shingle vaccine . As a pharmacist I reported and submitted an adverse reaction form /report to the FDA . I received no reply or further follow up from FDA. I too had permanent nerve damage as I had no resolution of facial symptoms at 8 weeks and no hope given by my medical doctors/specialists of any recovery at that point (besides surgically putting lead weights in my eyelids) . Desperate for some relief, I found an acupuncturist who gave me TENS treatments to my face and was able to restore me to about 80% in about 3 weeks although insurance/ neuro specialist would not pay for or recommend this therapy. Given it is live varicella virus vaccine and the same virus associated with Bells Palsy I think it is more than coincidental link and needs a bit more investigation. I'd take shingles over my Bell's experience any day.

Unfortunately I can relate completely to your situation; I could have written this sentence myself: " I had permanent nerve damage and now my smile (and I had a beautiful smile) is so distorted that I prefer not to smile in photographs." It is tragic, because it has affected who I am, since I am reluctant to smile about things.
I had suspected the shingles vaccine but at the time I couldn't find any link between it and Bells Palsy. Now 3 years later I googled it again out of curiosity and I find other people who have experienced the same thing.

I had the shingle shot from the Veterans Administration in December 2013 on February 1, 2014 I developed bells palsy and suffered nerve damage on the right side of my face. I have recovered about 80% but still have a dropping eye lid and my smile has been distorted. I often wonder if the vaccines was the cause. I asked several Doctors about the vaccine they didn't think the vaccine was the cause,however, they left open that possibility.

I received the shingle shot from the VA on 5/10/2017 and on 5/14/2017 had to go the emergency

And tell him/ her not to type or speak?? vaccines have side effects and sometimes very dangerous ones, but of course if you are yourself from big pharma then you will want to push such things on the population for your own financial gain. I got bell's palsy a few weeks after taking a shingles vaccine. Eye problems still persist many months after the facial problems/smile had stopped. So, if so many of us are getting Bell's, why is this fact kept from the public as a side effect of the vaccine?

Hi . . . wish I had done research, too. Had the shingles vaccine on Sept 19, 2017 and got BP on December 13, 2017 . . . small improvement in 2 months. off to see neurologist today to ask this very question . . . did the vaccine cause my BP.

Shingles vaccine Dec 2015. Bell's Palsy 16 days later. I asked the doctor in ER and the doctor who gave me the shot to submit to Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting and they gave me their god-like attitude..."no you uneducated mortal, they are not related"
