I have MS and spoke to my Neurologist about the shingles vaccine. I was told not to get it due to it being a live virus and with my immune system it wouldn't be good to do it. About 4 yrs ago my friend and I took our kids to the county fair. About 3-4 days after I got bells palsy and a week after the fair my friend got shingles. Fortunately we both caught it early. We came to the conclusion we got it at the fair since we both experienced issues related to the same virus. Be cause of our different immune systems it presented itself differently. Either someone didn't know they had shingles or chickenpox or they didn't care.

I instantly thought so as well. The last thing real people need, when in medical crisis, is a fake doctor chiming in- especially with such grossly misleading and broad stroke comments such as all vaccines being bad. I am not saying there may not be something to the isssues stated with this vaccine and I certainly support reporting suspected reactions to the CDC and FDA, but a real doctor calls for proper peer-reviewed research, not an end to vaccines. People, there are reasons that our life expectancies have nearly doubled since the former mid-century and vaccines are a big part of that.

I had a severe case of Bell's Palsy in 2004 and have permanent nerve damage to the right side of my face and most people say they can't tell unless I am tired. But, I can tell. My eye droops and I don't smile anymore either. My Dr. has also encouraged me to get the shingles. I asked if the Bell's and shingles were connected and he said that he didn't know. So far I have chosen not to take the vaccine because I am convinced that Bell's Palsy and Shingles are connected. Now after reading these comments I am more convinced than ever. I am having surgery on my eye shortly just to see properly and I definitely don't need another case of Bell's or the shingles ever and especially because of a vaccine. My question to the Dr.'s is why is shingles so prevalent all of a sudden. No one can say.

Bells Palsy is a known complication if the Shingles virus, also a side effect of the vaccine as well as the Chicken pox vaccine. Also is AFM, Transverse Myelitis, Giuliani Barre syndrome and these are all frightengly similar ( the same area of the spine is attacked the same way) as Polio Myelitis. Coincidence? I think not . Look at the new ‘mysterious’ surge in children in the USA coming down with AFM ( acute flaccid myelitis) coinciding with the varicella mixed with MMR ( MMRV) vaccines ( Chicken pox) being mandated now. Some experts have said it ‘looks the same as Polio but health experts freak out at that term’ .

I see you posted over a year ago. How have you recovered. My Bells Palsy was very severe and never fully recovered. But I have found that dry needling helped a bit. This year, I purchased a micro current machine. Finally, my facial muscles are starting to tone up again. My smile is almost symmetrical again. Don’t give up

I got shingles as well. Actually 3 times in one year during the worst covid. And i have been taking antiviral l lysine since then. It supposed to destroy all viruses. I was told by a naturopathic doctor. Covid is a virus as well so it will help. I take 500 mg daily. Its just what I do and wanted to let you guys know.
