I have had mirena (IUD) for almost three months now and have gained weight. It's just different for everybody :/
I have an iud and its caused me to gain 30 lbs in a year, there are a ton of forums with women having the same issue. Love not getting my period, but no amount of dieting and working out is helping drop any weight at all.
I took three shorts of depo !! it made me gain 20 pounds! keep in mind i am very active i workout five times a week and dont eat junk food. Please dont take the depo, makes you depressed, fat, and mad all the time. Do not take it.
You can get an IUD even if you've never given birth, that is old, false info.
i'm literally on the same boat. it's about to be a year on mirena and i've gained 20 pounds. it's so crazy to me because i had a great weight maintained for 5 years with no type of exercise and now it's impossible to shed this weight. did your body go back to normal after taking it out?
I have also been on the depo for three years and have gained almost 100 pounds. I am looking to switching birth control to stop the weight gain and hopefully drop most of it.
You don't have to been pregnant before for an IUD. It might just be more painful.

This is not true. I have never had a pregnancy and I was able to get it. However, it was a huge mistake. I got it taken out early due to the fact that my face looked like a cheese grater and I blimped up. My doctor said it couldn't be because of the IUD but it was. A week after I got it taken out my face started clearing up. Although, there is still residual damage from the acne it caused. Goes back to what everyone is saying, depends on your body.
I'm on the depo and I HATE IT. I've gained 35 pounds in a year in a half. Makes you emotional/half crazy haha I don't recommend it. Especially for the ones like myself that has battled weight their whole life.
I am on an IUD and I gained a lot of weight. Never had kids either.

This definitely causes you to gain weight. Ive been on it for 2 years and have gained 40lb.
