I am trying to tech my kid as much as I can about the importance of the healthy life. Which is hard, because I am a single parent and he is a teenager. Still, we manage to find a compromise and that tells me that I am doing a good job. So, can you tell me what would be the best vitamin and mineral supplements for children?

Those that are suitable for his age and that should write on the label of the vitamin/mineral product you wish to buy for him. Do not take anything other than that. Only if he is physically active, the dosage might be slightly increased. Other than that, he should take those substances from fruits and vegetables.

Hi Berte,

Vitamins are, by definition, substances we need for our body to function normally. Does this rule exclude children? Absolutely not. We need vitamins for healthy vision, to grow, to make bones and connective tissue, to fight infections, diseases and cancer, to heal wounds, to prevent us from bleeding to death, and to keep our teeth healthy and strong. Don’t these also apply to children? Of course they do!

So the children need sufficient vitamins intake to be healthy.
