Bleeding/Abortions/Health Concerns

I had an abortion 4 weeks ago. My bleeding has been very picky, light some days, heavy pouring others. I was prescribed medication to help induce cramping and close the cervix, as well as medicine to prevent infection. I never took either of these medications, as I couldn't afford it after the over-priced procedure.

I started cramping for the first time in 4 weeks yesterday. I think I may have started cramping because I've been having sex for the first time since the abortion as well. And I'm not talking light sex, I'm talking about the fun stuff, because I hate making my husband wait for me. I don't think it's fair to him. He's been so good and so patient all these weeks.

Well, anyway, it went away after a few hours, and bleeding increased ever so slightly. Today I have more cramps and I am literally pouring blood and big clots. I have been using super-sized tampons after the doctors "First 2 week warning" about not putting anything in the vagina to limit infection. But today, I have soaked through 3 super tampons in an hour, and after I take it out, I just sit on the toilet and literally pour blood mixed with big clots into the bowl. I sit there for about 20-25 minutes at a time and when I get up, it looks like the deepest shade of crimson I've ever seen. I even have to flush twice to get the water clear!

Is this normal? Should I be alarmed? Should I...I don't know. Just some friendly advice...please help. Thank you.
