It's very common for you to bleed after having sex. Especially the first few times. Why? Because your body is not used to the trauma, yes - trauma, to the tissues that sex can cause. Your genitals, and his, are very vascular. There are lots of blood vessels that can break easily and lead to bleeding.
As you have more sex these tissues will tend to "toughen" up and not be as likely to bleed. Still, you can bleed ANY time after sex.
Your sister is correct that discharge after sex is normal too. That's how your vagina cleans itself. It can indicate a yeast infection, which are also common after having sex.
