bleeding after Mirena removal

i had my mirana for 3 years.. i recently had it removed, and right after i had it removed i started bleeding heavily.. this is the second day & im still having blood clots & heavy bleeding... how long does the bleeding usually last?

I had my Mirena taken out 2 weeks ago cause the 5  yrs was up.. first of all I had to have it removed via ultrasound since the strings dissapeared, which was painful. Ever since I have been bleeding spotting to nothing to heavy flow. Ive had no clots, but the blood and discharge goes from almost brownish to bright red. one day nothing and then the next day a lot. anyone know when this will stop? I will NEVER have another. Let alone the fact that I gained weight and the dr. had the nerve to tell me Mirena doesnt make you gain weight. and I started loosing handfulls of hair, and stomach problems. I already dont feel as bloated as I did, and my heart doesnt feel like it is racing anymore.

Never again.

I have the same issues! Bloating and weight gain. my dr. told me cant be from Mirena, but i did research and found that on the mirena web site it does list weight gain as an effect. Mine is out now and am hoping to lose weight. I work out every day and eat right, but still gained 70pounds. GRRR. Im interested in wether you lost anymore after a yr??

just so know, the constant spotting after getting the mirena is normal i've had mine for over three years. i stopped spotting after about six months and haven't had a period since( just occasional spotting) if you would have waited it might have stopped.

I read few posts and was really helpful to me as I am going to doctor to get my mirena removed on Wednesday, I am very happy to know that all the cramping, mood swing, will go soon. I will post feedback as soon as I get it removed. thanks to all for posting their experiences. Helped alot.

just a quick question, I had my Mirena removed 3.5 weeks ago with only a day or so of bleeding afterwards. Haven't recieved my period yet. Does anyone know if this is normal? I am nervous about it. Thanks!

Mine lasted 2 weeks to the day. On and off,heavy to light with clotting.

I just had my IUD removed for the second time bleeding heavily with clots is normal for about a month!

I had my Mirena taken out April 3, 2013 (wednesday)  after 4 years of having it. I've been bleeding heavily April 5, 2013 (friday) and its been 4 days so far. hopefully it will stop soon. Its just to much blood for me.

Im in the exact same situation as u... have you heard anything about when we should be back on track or if i should be worried?

Please help I am in the same boat! I hate this thing.  I had in put in on the 3/04/2013 and removed yesterday 11/04/2013 so I had it for a week and a day.  My gine was all for this never imformed me about the side effects.  I read alot on the internet and it scared me so much I had it removed....how long can I expect to bleed?  I have been since it was inserted... I am hoping a week of hormones would not have such bad effect....very upset about being lied to about Mirena!  I realy hope all is getting better with all of you!!

I am almost in the same boat.. I had the Mirena in for only 4 years and got it removed last month on the 7th blood the whole month with really big blood clots and i have never had it like this before it stopped only for one week and now im back on it. Now im on Trynessa but I am still off my cycle? When should I expect to get back on the right track? 

ok so i got my mirena taken out on the 18th of april and here it is the 21st of april i know this is gonna be tmi but i got my period on the 20th and have been clotting the whole time i am thinking its a miscarriage only because i went to the bathroom at 1130 pm on the 20th and here it goes i had a really big clot come out before i even peed so i took the clot out of the toilet with a cup and it was really hard and i looked up images of miscarriages on google and thats kinda what it looked like has anyone else have this happen i only had my iud in for a yr and bleed almost the whole time please help me 

 

I had Mirena put in 5 years ago and loved it. The occasional spotting and tender breasts were nothing compared to constant periodswith heavy bleeding I had prior to Mirena. I remember having more bleeding and spotting the first 5-6 months, but once my body adjusted, I rarely got a period and when I did, it was very light for two or three days. I just had mine replaced and looked at this website to read about other women's experiences when replacing theirs upon the five year expiration date. 

i had my mirena for 4.5 years and loved the abstance of bleeding each month however three years ago i began noticed a breast lump and had all the test in the world done. it was benigh. over the next three years i developed too many lumps to count when going for my now routine mamagraphs even though i am only 32. i see a heme/onc dr every three month for iron def anemia so she has been monitoring my breast issues. With no breast cancer in my family i asked her what could be causing all the benigh breast masses that keep requiring biopsy and mri. i said my gyn said mirena does not cause these issues when i asked him three years prior. she said that some women have a sensitivity to the hormones and that i may be one so the vertic was removal early with follow up mri to see if the lumps have stopped forming and growing which i am hoping is the case. In the week since removal i have been bleeding off and on heavy light heavy and so on along with dizziness headaches moodiness i did call md whom stated that mirena removal does not cause this however i disagree esp after i phoned mirena whom stated that many women have side effects post removal which eased my mind that i was not crazy. i loved my mirena and kept it in even after i had a oviarien cyst rupture that caused excessive internal bleeding for a few days and a hospital stay hench seeing a hem/ onc md for my prolonged bleeding. is there anyone else with breast lumps post mirena insertion.
