Hi All,

you definately have PCOS..yes all of you. There are different type of PCOS and PCOS can be (but not always) in combination with another health issue.

For those that don't know PCOS stands for Polycystic Ovariane Syndrome.

Yes, this does mean you have more than the normal amount of cysts on your ovaries. Yes this also means you are infertile - and getting pregnant is not easy as you will have miscarrages. BUT pregnancy is also the cure. Why? when you're pregnant your hormones balance. Having PCOS also mean you have an inbalance in your hormones...you would have more of the male hormone than the female hormones. This also results in weight gain or extreme weight loss. Majority of the time it is wieight gain. You may also get more hair than normal (for example and not limited to, hairy arms or hairy face etc), acne, tiredness/lathargic, depressed, very moody, etc etc.

You can have the cysts removed using a procedure known as "Golf Balling" (i forgot the technical term for it). This is where they go in using a needle and pop your cysts...yes simple as that but sounds scary - even for me..

Most common medicines uses to treat PCOS are Metforim and the pill. Metforim is also used for diabetics. PCOS suffers also have problems with their glucose levels.

There are many things you get get as a result of NOT treating PCOS. Some of these are Cervical Cancer, Breast Cancer, Diabetics, and a number of other major health issues. I RECCOMMEND YOU ALL GO SEE A GYNOCOLOGIST THEY WILL HELP YOU!

PCOS IS VERY COMMON IN FEMALES - the males carry the gene and can be passed onto their daughters. The only reason you don't hear about it is because women are too ashamed to go see a gynacologist or their doctor about this issue.

The reasons why your doctors may not know about PCOS is because women don't go the doctor enough to report what is wrong with them. THE MORE WOMEN THAT REPORT THEIR PCOS CONDITION THE MORE RESEARCH THE DOCTORS WILL DO AND THE MORE THEY WILL TRY TO FIND A CURE.

You will be put through a Gluco test where you are asked to drink 600ml of glucose (tastes like lemmonade) and a blood sample will be taken every two hours for four hours. All up they will take blood from you three times. Once before drinking the glucose and twice during the four hour period. However you will need to sit down and not use up your energy during this time. Reason being you will use up your glucose and your test will not be accurate.

IF YOU DON'T GO TO THE DOCTOR THIS CONDITION WILL REMAIN UNSPOKEN ABOUT AND UNCURABLE.

PLEASE! Go see you doctor, make them more aware and help other women by speaking about PCOS more openly.

Remember, there are four different types of cancer amongs other major conditions you can get if you don't seek medical help. So please!! go see your doctor. Help yourself, help other women, help your daughters!

I also have PCOS. My good friend also has PCOS. The more you discuss this publicly the more others will become aware of this.

why does everyone i know always go on birth control. this does not help at all it makes matters worse, and before it even eases the symptoms, you end up taken multiple kinds of pills. your body does not need all those garbage tablets. i can help you with more info, but i need as much info as possible. however these so call quacks who are only out for the money, don't take the time to diagnose their patient, cause with each prescription giving is more money in there pockets. and patient is back to square one. the medication only ease the symptom not cure it.

first of all do not take birth control. it is very very bad for you, all it does is messes up your natural body hormones. the milk that we drink has many many chemicals and is also bad for you. you can get calcium from fruits and vegetables, you don't need milk, to get it. as for the birth control pills it has many side affects, that a child should not have to go through. birth control pills can cause bloating, breast tenderness, nausea , headaches, bleeding between your periods, decreased sex drive. and may cause non-cancerous liver tumors. it can increase your risk of blood clots. if you don't need it don't use.

In 2008 I had experienced AN-8-MONTH PERIOD (menstruating.)
I was given 1 shot of #Xx-x (request the more info) every other day for four days.
On the third day, my period had stopped.
To insure that this would work I was given the last shot. I’m happy to say this cured the problem … ALL-NON-TOXIC, PAM

Iv had the same problem.. im 20 years old. I've been to my gp who did nothing. A few days later I was at work and lost a blood clot my work sent me home and told me to go straight to a&e. I went to the local hospital in my area but they couldn't do anything as they don't have doctors only nurses. A few days went by where I was just spotting, I was in a lot of pain so my boyfriend called an amberlance where I then seen a doctor at hospital. They took blood test, urine sample and also refured me to the gp all my resluts came back fine. I am still bleeding and in a lot of pain. But no one seems to be concerned.

Hi! even i faced this problem .i had my hysteroscopy done in february and it bleeded for 7 days and stopped on its own in my next cycle it bleeded non stop for 20 days and the doctor said its normal.i know its quite frustrating to bleed for somany days. I tried several things but nothing worked but two excellent home remedies worked magically in my case...u can also try

1)On an empty stomach morning and evening take 250 ml milk and boil it and let it cool down to a room temperature.cut half a lemon and squeeze it in the milk, stir it with spoon and drink it immediately before it curdles down.it should curdle down in ur stomach.it really really worked.

2)Take coriander powder 2 -3table spoon in 1 glass of water and keep boiling it till it becomes half while covering the lid..let it cool to a room temperature and drink it after sieving it.take this 2-3 times a day for several days till it stops ....very nice trick.

Wish u all the best and hope it helps. get well soon

had a misscarriage in 14 weeks ago, normal period at the normal time the next month, no period the next month (wasn't pregnant again) then a period came 6 weeks after my previous period so over 2 weeks late (I am very regular so that was off in itself). it hasn't stopped yet and its over 6 weeks now. it started normal (but late) and after the first week (my periods usually last 4-5 days) i started passing painful bloodclots, a few of which were massive (inches long). I went to the doc and she wasn't concerned at all, even though this is totally abnormal for me (and one of the bloodclots in particular was really odd with a peachy fleshy colour to part of it). No large blodclots since, a few small ones. After the clots it went light and then brown (old blood) for a few days then just as I thought it would stop back to fresh red blood for a few days, and so on. After 4 weeks it got heavier for a few days (like a lighter period, i'm usually heavyish) and then back to brown/red and so on. Its been 6 1/2 weeks now and today I've suddenly gone red, clots of a not huge but not tiny size and normal period flow. Am seeing the doc again soon (cuz they are ot worried) but I'm really worried. Am in my early/mid 30s, really want kids so this is terifying!

Do says I'm probably stressed, but I've been very stressed in the past and never had anything like this before!

Has anyone else that has posted actually got any answers from a gynocologist as to what has happened to them?

Continuing for my post above as 'worried sick' I've finally had examination from doctor and have a swolen cervix and need to go to colposcopy clinic to be checked out (although cervical smear tests have been fine for several years), she did a clamydia swab as a precaution but doesn't think its that as bleeding has been too heavy for that apparently, and need to have an ultrasound to look at womb. Very annoyed and more anxious now as could have done this weeks ago if I had been taken seriously and had another day with heavier bleeding yesterday and now am having some cervical pain! Not happy.

Clamydia test back and negative so it is not that, finally being treated as a priority so one appointment booked for next week, the other not confirmed yet. Have suddenly started bleeding megga heavy today for last 4-5 hours. Being investigated for gyno cancers but have been told not to worry as might not be that. Still concerned may be an infection and would like antibiotics in the meantime in case it is what with all of this waiting for getting tests done and then no doubt waiting for results back when they have been done!

Worried sick: Been bleeding like no bleeding I've ever had before for 24 hours. Had a telephone conversation with a straight talking GP today and really appreciated the straight talking. If I continue to bleed at the rate I am I may feel woozy or ill, if I do I should go straight to hospital. If I don't feel ill just take pain killers as required (i'm trying not to) and wait for scan next week which will tell me whether it is a cyst, fibroid, or most likely: either some placenta left behind from miscarriage in March, or a hormonal problem (he suspects its a hormonal problem where he says the womb just bleeds because 'it wants to') which he would give me medication for a month or two to sort out, which he says usually works, and then my body would hopefully be back to normal. I should have an ultrasound scan early next week (although I've not been given a time and date yet). Love the straight talking, of it might be this this or this do this and if things get worse do this and tell them I referred you. Can't stand not having a clue what is going on when symptoms get worse and I wait and wait being made to feel like a faker. Even if he is wrong, which I doubt, I feel a lot better now even though this bleeding (pad per hour soaked right through for 24 hours) is freaking me out!

Worried sick continues: Bleeding has calmed down, but not stopped. Had a scan yesterday and that showed ovaries and womb fine, no placenta or clots left and lining showing as thin and normal. They think the heavier bleeding was probably down to hormones but can't be sure. Got the appointment at the colposcopy clinic later in the week. Hope that is all ok and that my cervix isn't damaged in some way.
