Hello,  I have a large water blister on my lower lip on the inside and it's painful.  I've never had fever blister or herpes simplex on my lips and this isn't what it is.  I haven't been to the dentist lately.  I've had these before occasionally, thinking it might have been from accidentally biting my lip.

I've had one for years and it started off after a trip to the dentist. Turns out I'm allergic to latex and now it's scarred. Might be worth checking out as most dentists are now provided with non latex gloves. Since I found out I've had no further problems after trips to the dentist but I still have a scarred lump on my upper lip which can be annoying at times but I've gotten used to it.

85% or more of healthy adult Americans has herpes simplex in their bodies dormant, if you've ever had chicken pox, it is a form of the herpes virus and will always remain at the base of your spin. Stress and other factors can cause the virus to become active and bring on an outbreak. Also, the same virus can cause an outbreak in your genital area, however if a person with a cold sore gives you oral sex or vice versa, then you've passed genital herpes, at that point it is considered an STD. It can also be passed to children through birth.

This all sounds like fungal (yeast) infection, clean out your mouth good, eat prebiotic and probiotics take some multivitamins and use an antifungal cream on area and it should go away in a while

If you had a general the tube going into your mouth can cause this, and the same happens in the dentist when your lip has had pressure from a metal dentist tool , I dont know why this happens to give you a kind of painfull cold sore, maybe cross contamination, like the equipment not sterile so will carry the virus on it, ounce you catch it , it tends to come back especially if your run down or been ill with the flu -.-

It could very well be a stress blister. I am 68 and caring for a 92 yr. old man that used to be able to do quite a bit. He fell twice and we learned he has A fib. Now I am chained to the house as he can't be left alone anymore, at all!! this has caused me a lot of tension as it's a whole new ball game with his needs now. Stress can cause blisters. I treat mine with camphophenique . Abreva, although it's a little expensive, works fast too.
