okay folks, an update on my blocked salivary gland...... that all the experts and tests said wasn't a stone...... i was about to go under the knife as the last resort but I kept squeezing it a couple of days in vain... then while sat on the sofa with a bag of ready salted crisps and the cat on my lap had a massive allergic sneeze...... and lo and behold immediately felt something hard in my mouth.... was a small white calcium stone..... and I have been fine since... a month has gone by now and all is well..... so much for the experts and scans including mri....... good luck to you all and don't give up hoping....

I had my salivary duct stone taken out by the surgeon and i feel he botched it.  Now the duct seems closed for good.  First few days after the surgery any time i would even think of spicy foods my face would puff up and it would hurt like hell because the surgery wound would open up.  Later the wound closed but the duct closed with it.  I went to a second doctor who said there was not much he could do to open it.  He said sometimes the duct closes like that after surgery.  If i wanted he could take the whole gland out but that was an even bigger surgery.  Otherwise he said that my gland would atrophy over time and ultimately my face would stop swelling up.  Its been 18 months and that has not completely happened.  When i press my finger on the duct it feels like that side of my mouth has a lot of saliva trapped underneath but there is nowhere for it to go.  If i message it that way for a while it seems as if the trapped saliva has somewhat receeded but i cannot be sure if it has come out of the duct or if it has just gone somewhere else.

I just got out of the hospital - my family Doctor saw my face and sent me. I also had seen ENT a few days previous - never imagined I woould wake up unable to swallow or eat - worse thing is the infection that comes with it - so I stayed for a few eays to see if swelling tongue would go down - and it did a little - I go back in next Monday forsurgery - and to keep sucking lemons til then

I have noticed that my right eye, on the side where my salivary gland stones are, was twitching every once in awhile and also tearing quite a bit - I had gone to Dentist too - fortunately I only have two root canals - I went to local clinic and then on to Emergency - they did a contrast c-span and yes, I had the salivary gland stones - - I had gone to Dentist who did my root canals and Dentist who made my plates - I can't say it was worthless - but once I had the scan there was no question - - I sure would see an ENT - at one time after I got a set of teeth I went to my ENT and he started to put his fist in my mouth, and he said, it is not your ears, it is your plates - - I had what I thought was canker sores - it hurts so badly after I chew which is indicative of the stones - - on YouTube they even have someone looking for her own stones - some thought it gorey - I appreciated it and let them know - - -

I woke up one Saturday morning unable to talk - face on right side was swollen - as was tongue and could not talk - - Dr sent me to hospital - they were going to do surgery but I had to wait a few days as I am on blood thinner - in the mean time I had looked up salivary gland stone and it came up on YouTube where I saw what one actually looked like  - thank heavens - - I went back to my family Doctor and while sitting there in his office-  I coughed - and coughed - and lo and behold what looked like a flat orange seed came out of my mouth - (thank heavens I had not taken other means to spit it out or I would have never seen the stone) - I was put on anti-biotics - surgery cancelled -- - - It has been four weeks and I still see it red where the stone was - would like to hear from other folks after the fact - - one thing also - is that a ENT had also told me my partial wasn't fitting just right - (and pretty new) - so when my mouth is completely healed then I will go to Dentist

I know it's 11 months down the line but I just have to add my 5cents worth. I do agree with you 100% that shocking an already imbalanced system is very dangerous as my dad had cancer and the homeopath gave him such a hectic detox, within 2 days his throat closed up and he suffered a stroke, which left his face lame on the one side and from there it was all just down hill. However, your body can be regenerated from the inside out, I grow wheatgrass myself and I can feel and see the change. The chlorophyll in wheatgrass is almost identical to our cellular structure thus it can absorb into our blood and organs very easily. It has the ability to extract toxins from your blood and organs, the onus is on you to drink water to get all the toxins accumulated in your kidneys out your body. And yes, your skin improves and you will notice if you older, that you start looking younger and your hair goes darker again! It is amazing stuff and I am living proof ;-*

so i thought i might have the stones originally and i do not have health insurance hense y i am on here asking wht i should do?? my sublingual saliva gland is swollen and i see saliva coming out of it so it doesn't appear to be clogged!!!!  it hurts under my jaw line i feel like i have excessive spit and its hard to chew!!!! I'm hoping that maybe its just a slower process for the stone to surface maybe?? I have never had anything wrong with my mouth before never had a cavity or anything and all of a sudden i have this stupid thing under my tongue that hurts so bad!!! the pain and swelling started about 4 or 5 days ago hasn't progressed just hasn't gotten better and it hurts what should i do??

OMG. Im 55years old and have an area under my tongue closer to my gum line that feels like. cheery seed is there under the skin. Went to my doctor who said it was a blocked duct. He told me grab some "lemon drops" suck on them to get rid of it. Its been two months. Now what? I'll have him check for calcium deposit. Sounds better than bags of lemon drops !

I have had one on the right side in the same spot you described. I asked my dentist about it but it was never flared up when I saw him. He told me to call next time it flared-up and I did. He took pictures of it. He said he had never seen anything like it. He referred me to an oral surgeon who pretty much just blew me off! I've had this for over a year. I thought it was interesting that you were being treated for acid reflux as I am. Coincidence? Maybe.
