What is it? It's blood. Why? Because you likely caused some trauma (tissue damage) to your anus.
The skin is very tender and vascular (lots of blood vessels). It can easily bleed heavily. You may also have a hemorrhoid (swollen and irritated blood vessels). Be careful putting things up there.
If the bleeding doesn't stop you'll need to see your doctor.
