Stool is never soft, always just small balls, the water just turns sort of red around them. I am not gassy but some days go many times, sometimes I pass a lot and other times not very much. Some days my lower left abdomen is achy, some days it hurts a lot, other times I feel fine. Dr. Said more water and more fiber, doesn't seem to make much difference. I saw on a website for arthritis that Advil can cause similar symptoms, I have been having knee and back issues so have been taking Advil every night to sleep with a little bit to eat. I also have taken Glucosamin/Chrondroitin for my knees for many years, it has helped immensly up until recently. I am just now menopausal and thought at first the ache in my abdomen was an ovary but now it has been about a year so I think it may be something else.
Any thoughts about my symptoms? My Dr. Did not seem alarmed but it is just not seeming normal to me. Also, since all this started, my eyes are always red and bloodshot but are not dry or itchy! Eye Dr. Said not any eye problems but might be a signal of something else going on in the body! HELP

Pain meds can cause constipation. a lesser known culprit is some antihistamines! Try flax seed (Bob's red Mill makes some good stuff, I use 2 tbls a day) , I found it better than psyllium or the others. If the blood is bright red, it's likely that it's from the hard stools passing but if the blood is actually IN the stool, of course that's more concerning. As far as all of your symptoms together, I don't know if they're related. Try to go to a Naturopath. They are kind of the best of Western and Eastern medicine combined.
