breastbone pain through to middle of back shoulderblades

My husband has had the same symptoms as described above. He feels like he is having a heart attack. Terrible, sharp pain by his breast bone, radiating outwards towards his shoulder blades. Feels like he is having a heart attack. Its worst at night, when he hasn't eaten or has eaten too much. He has had ECG, Endoscopy, no problem. He does not smoke, does not drink, healthy and gyms about 4 times a week. He is 47 years old. He wakes up at night, not able to breath, pain in his chest, feeling like he is having a heart attack. It is affecting our lives. Can anyone help, please?

omg, I have had all the same symptoms. It is your thoracic discs in your back. Go to a dr for a script for an mri of your c and t spine. I guarantee you have a herniation or a bulging disc. I also have anxiety and believe me when my pain is at its worse my anxiety soars. I currently see a pain management dr and get epidual injections which really help with the pain. I still have anxiety but it is not as high when my pain is managed.

I have suffered with this issue for over 10 yrs now. My friend was trying to start eating healthy & asked me to do a detox diet with her so I did. I had never felt better. After a couple years I did the detox again & again I felt great. Finally I had told my dr that there had to be some connection (all other tests done throughout the years had come up negative). She finally prescribed me medicine for irritable bowel syndrome with chronic constipation (I went every day so never would have thought of cc). All my pain has been gone now for 2 months. For more than 10 years of suffering I have not gone 2 whole months of feeling good until now. I have not changed ANYTHING except for taking my medicine each day. This may not be the case for everyone on here but it wont hurt you to try something similar & see if it works for you too. Hope you all find your answer & the pain stops.

Yes.I was rear ended two years ago and have a ruptured lower disc.Also pain in my left middle back radiating to my left Breast elbow and some numbness in my left hand.I have been in pain now for two years it is getting worse every day.
Long story but with no insurance it is hard to get a doctor to look at me.Law suit pending who knows. I hope that this is something that can be fixed.I can not handle this pain too much longer it is taking over my life.I do work but easy stuff thank god.I just wish I knew what the H it is.Thank you for listening.

I started having these pains when I was around 12-13yrs. My sister and mother both have it as well... We have heard so many Doctors say so many things, which just tells me they have know idea. Well it's reassuring to read some of this, I'm very fit and a climber, I get this occasionally mid route, which is a problem. Had all the heart tests and all normal results twice, it usually comes on at rest after exercise, I often find it is related to a bout of dihorrea or wind ( I've had IBS) for many years, good news is that after a year of these attacks, I'm still alive so it's probably not that serious and I've got quite good at meditating which really helps stopping it.

I had this experience. After a full heart work up, my cardiologist suggested the pain could be related to my esophagus. So I went to a gastro doctor and he did a procedure to look down my esophagus and I had scarring which was caused by reflux and diagnosed me with GERD and put me on nexium. It was immediate relief. Reflux does not always come all the way up into your throat, which is why people miss it, they don't know they have it.

I've had the same symptoms yesterday morning and today. Yesterday started after breakfast so I assumed it was heartburn or indigestion but today it started a few hours after I'd eaten but I had been driving and carried my daughter inside in her car seat. Sounds like the costo.... some of you have described. I'm going to have a look on line I'm 33 have low blood pressure normally I'm not overweight and I takr iron tablets at the moment.

I know this sounds so simple, but, take warm to hot Epsom salt soak baths. It relieves in so many ways the muscle tightness and if it is a pinched nerve in your neck, the muscle relaxing will help the neck bones to go back into place. You do not have to have a trauma to have a pinched nerve. I also find this happens when I contract a very minor virus.

i have pain between my breast and more on the left side i was told by my dr im fine and it can be anxity but im still scared i do have 40F breast size could that mean anything

oh my god going through the same thing. Gallbladder out about 10 years ago and I have had this pain since then no one can find anything. Yesterday I had another endoscopy and nothing then hours later I had a very bad attack again that lasted 2 hours.

Is it possible that you may have just started working out and lifting weights with your upper body and pulled a muscle? I do this all the time and I would also carry bags that are too heavy that caused pain in my chest wall and my shoulder. I was told by my doctor that it was inflammation and was given motrin for the inflammation. I was also required to rest for five days when it happened with absolutely no physical activity.

I am completely numb under both my breast and on a 6" section of the front of my calf, I have shortness of breath, tingling down both of my legs and hands and my right thumb has no strength so some times I drop things. I get sever cramping like charlie horses in my rib cage and on the bottom of my feet. I have degenerating disc in my lower back and bulging disc in my neck all caused by having Reiter's syndrome which is a auto immune Arthritis condition. I have had chest pain. neck pain and back pain for over 1 Month now I do have gastritis and acid reflux I went to the ER they took chest xrays and told me I was fine which I do smoke from time to time scared I had lung cancer but I still have this pain and its very frustrating I can't believe I am going through this I don't remember ever havign this pain I have been praying day and night that the Lord would heal me. My doctor told me its caused by stress and anxiety which I don't believe it is don't know what to do from this point taking anxiety pills pain pills nexium and I don't feel anything is working.
