my husband who is 62 as had a replacement valve heart operation at the end of january 2013 and he now s ad breathing problems  again and he hasnt got a chest infection. why, can you advise please

Hi again Sharon,

I'm not sure if you saw my response to your other post but GET HIM TO HIS DOCTOR or the EMERGENCY ROOM.

If there is a problem with the valve then it can cause breathing problems.  Blood flows from the heart and is pumped through the lungs, then back to the heart and out to the body.  If there is a problem with the flow of blood it WILL NOT oxygenate enough and he can become very short of breath.  It is also possible that blood is backing up causing "congestive heart failure."

DO NOT DELAY TREATMENT.  This IS an EMERGENCY.
