My last period started on 11th july and lasted 3 days which is normal for me but I've just ovulated and now I have very dark brown, like clots, discharge. I've never had it before. I've had periods since I was 11 and I'm now 27. The only time I have been like this is when I had a ectopic pregnancy and they gave me a injection to get rid of the pregnancy.

Well, I am thinking that you may want to contact your obgyn and get an ultrasound (sonogram) done just to be sure. If it could be a possible tube baby it would be best for them to see it before it causes damage to your uterus. If you have both tubes still and you were lucky to walk away from your last tubal pregnancy, you might be possibly just pg or there is a slim chance... That it has happened again.
