I'm 40 year old female and about two weeks ago I have noticed a strange thing. Just the other day while I was talking with my mother who is over 70 now and still looks healthy and alive.
But, because she wore a skirt I have noticed that she has several bruises on her legs.
When I asked her where she injured her self- she told me that it is nothing and that she didn’t do anything.
They are present there for months now and she also doesn’t know what could be the possible cause. Doesn’t this sound strange to you? Have anybody heard about such thing?

Hi. I have just read your post and although it really do sounds strange- it is quite normal and not so uncommon in older people.
The fact is that bruises are most common in older people because their skin is thinning with aging.
This is caused my breaking down the collagen- substance that’s straightening the skin and connective tissue. The walls of leg veins are also thin in older people and that is also one important factor.
Excessive use of medications such as aspirin can also cause these strange bruises.
There is nothing serious about it and your mother shouldn’t worry about it. There is no specific treatment for it.
