Hi I've been trying to insert a menstrual cup when I found a sizable bulge of flesh obstructing entrance. This is my first time exploring genital area, so I am uncertain if this is normal vaginal muscle doing its job, or a peculiar condition in need of medical examination. It bears down on the entrance and my finger needs to squeeze underneath and around it to get in deeper. It does not resemble photos of vaginal cyst involving clogged Bartholin's gland. The texture is not smooth, sort of like chicken skin, only with even more noticable goosebumps. There is no pain. The main problem is that it juts out and obstructs the orifice and a menstrual cup can't get underneath it for insertion. I am sexually inexperienced and I am unsure if I have to work out the muscles on the opposite wall, near the anal region, or the bulging flesh in question, which is near the bladder. Or should I stop trying to use the cup altogether and seek medical expertise?

Hi, without actually being able to see what your talking about it is hard to try and work out what it is and if it is actually normal, the vagina can take on many different forms and shapes and differes slightly in every woman, you would probably be best to go talk to your doctor about it and that way they can examine you if need be.

Hope this helps
