so i found out a week or two ago that i have a small lump above and in between two of my top front teeth. it only hurts slightly when poked and my teeth seems to be fine. i banged the teeth on a granite sink 7-8 years ago but its just forming now. i also had a numbing shot injected into the roof of my mouth around that area maybe six months ago, not sure. i have all my permanent teeth in but i have a tooth growing out in front and between two teeth right next to the teeth with the bump over it. about a month ago i had a small fleshy bump in between the teeth in question but it disappeared and then shortly after i found the small lump above my teeth. i'm 16 so i haven't had the chance to smoke nor do i intend to. if someone has an answer that would be greatly appreciated.

I have had similar experience. The swelling was infront of my 2nd molar from the back. It did open up, pus and a tiny bit of blood came out. I got on antibotics and it is sensitive, and is pointed and above gum level. There is no infection but it seems to get irritated when I eat.Sensitive to the touch but no longer any pain since the pus came out. If I rinse with warm salted water it feels better.

What is causing it. I had deep scaling late November and afterward I noticed a swelling. The swelling is firm and above gum level. My teeth are cleaned regularly.
The pointed growth like swelling is in front of a lower molar that had the root canal cleaned up from the old type of material they put in the 70's. I have had an implant placed in that spot but it is ok. When ever I eat, the swelling gets worse. I have been on a course of antibotics since some pus and a tiny bit of blood came out to ensure no infection occurs. The swelling remains. The teeth are fine and I have no gum disease.

I am the guest. I also have wondered if it is cancerous as its a projected growth above the gum level. I have been taking 500 mg twice per day of Amoxicilline Sandoz and it does not feel painful but then the pus came out before the Amox..I have no lower pain as I did once when the gum was swollen. I found that a little baking soda with oral hydrogen peroxide rinse caused it to drain. I was told to rinse with warm salt water every night to cleanse it. I have not followed through but I drink peppermint or mint tea at night and this soothes it. There is no swelling beneath the face or at the ear lobe. I also have good hygiene. And my root canal was cleaned up twice before.
I thank all of you for posting your concerns and comments. It is
worrisome not to have answers about what is causing this.
Oh, if I eat nuts or seeds it gets worse. I think we must eat a soft diet for a while to see if this helps. Has anyone changed what they eat? I have not had coffee for months but today I had a cup. So it is not coffee. I think our gums have been injured in some way and perhaps a little particle got into the gum and caused an irritation and inflamation. Just a thought.
Many thanks for your posts. I do fee; better to know it is not an isolated thing happening just to me but I know we all feel terrible to have something which does not go away and we worry that it can bring something worse if it continues. It was good to learn that the young man's bother said hers eventually went away. Let us pray for each other that we will all be healed and take better care of oral hygiene and be careful about what we choose to eat. Thanks again. Diana

I just had a cyst removed on my gums. Luckily,I went in before it got too big. It started to eat away at my jaw bone. Please see an oral surgeon not a dentist office.

I'm having cyst or hard like substance on my gums on the right side of my mouth. It doesn't hurt, but I'm wondering if this is something to worry about?
