Be been on suboxone now for 9 years as of April 25 2016! I'm on a low dose less than 2 Mg's a day ! I was good until 2013 n never had any problems but I was told I have a fatty liver ! I've had ultrasound n will have to continue to monitor I came to web also because prescribing physician said its because of food not suboxone! But I'm not much over weight if I am I'm 5'11'' 190lbs but I do work out n lift heavy weight I'm in construction n have went from being addicted to having my own company n a new wife life n children I am blessed n God is what did it for me he blessed me with suboxone wich was another miracle n it keeps addicts off more dope if taken correctly! It's hard to get in to see doctor who prescribed because they can only have limited patients but to all who are fighting keep ur head up I went from 0 to having a great life n it's not taken the whole 9 years I'd say within 3 I was in a great place n even immediately within 1 year had gotten healthy now this but let's see if better diet helps I'll let you all know god bless u all!

You most definitely have some serious issues. It's sounds to me like you're blaming someone else for your own bad choices and weak mind (lack of willpower to stop using). If your doctor has been giving you 32 mg's a day for that amount of time then he deserves to lose his license, ESPECIALLY if it's prescribed for what you say it is, "OCD". . . not to mention that what you stated doesn't make any sense! If you were weened down to 32mg's then something is seriously wrong with you AND your doctor because Suboxone/Subutex has a ceiling affect and it maxes out its potential at 32mg's. That is an UNGODLY dose of sub and you could be doing irreversible damage to your liver, I highly doubt your original statement though and I dare say that you, my friend, are a liar.

Sometimes it take time for the liver to show the damage it could've just been a coincidence

My daughter became addicted to opioids and used subutex and suboxone to get clean. She has had terrible health problems since she's used these prescription medications -more than she did when she was addicted. She has a severely fatty liver, very high liver enzymes and triglycerides, has had pancreatitis, and was diagnosed with CIDP ( a chronic version of Guillane-Barre) about a year ago. I find it hard to believe these drugs weren't at least partly to blame. I hope much more research will be done on these drugs! So many people are going to be using these with this horrible epidemic of opioid abuse. We need to make sure they're safe.

I have been on subutex for 3 years now, I have hep C, My Dr just quit and gave me suboxone, not subutex, and I can tell the difference. In my state the DEA wants to stop subutex!!!!! I'm sure they do, what is this population control? Because now they're will be many more overdoses, some people can't take suboxne . It's they only thing that made me feel normal, and kept me clean!!!

Please be careful shooting them. My best friend had to have heart surgery t 29 from shooting them. They are very bad for your heart and veins. If you do choose to continue shooting which lets be honest you probably will invest in good filters. They are not expensive and possibly free if have a needle exchange near you. Or if just use cottons swab ends rinse twice. It wont make it weaker it will only get rid of all the extra junk. Do like you normally would than redo into something clean and rinse again. Be safe best of luck hope helps a lil.

A psychiatrist is a medically trained doctor, as opposed to psycologists. So don't look for answers on the web and don't as you say "I discredited him immediately and read somewhere that other people were experiencing the same problems".
Go to another therapist instead.

I have been on suboxone & subutex for over 9 years. My liver tests have always came back normal, along with any other lab tests. HUGE credit goes out to any1 that has gotten off this stuff!!!

I've been on suboxone for 7 years, I was just told by my diabetes doctor that I had 2 liver enzyme tests come back high in a row. He wants me to come in one month from now and talk about symptoms of liver disease and he states that he believes suboxone therapy is the cause of my recent issues with my liver.

I have a question for you since you are a certified MD. MY father passed away from cirrhosis of the liver, not from alcohol or drug abuse, the hereditary type cirrhosis.I have been on suboxone for 4 years and my last blood test my AST was elevated. With my family history shouldn't my doctors have just put me on an alternative to suboxone? I'm scared next time my blood work comes back its going to be even higher. I do not want to damage my liver anymore if its already slowly self destructing.

Also, I forgot to add in the suboxone makes me feel very tired all day, and get horrible headaches. I take about 4 mg a day , but I feel as though it does nothing for me let alone give me any energy!!! I posted earlier about my dad having the chirosis. Thank you

Since you are certified, I have some questions for you . my father had chirosis of the liver, not from alcohol or drug abuse the hereditary type. I have been in suboxone for 4 years and methadone 3 years before switching. I went to get blood work done and my ASTAND ALT was elevated. With my family history shouldn't my Dr have gave me an alternative? Plus, the suboxone doesn't do anything for me I take about 4 mg a day and I get super tired and want to sleep all day, and get horrible headaches could this be caused from the suboxone also?

How long did you take 15 10mgs per day?? That's what I take and I'm too scared to see if I've done damage. It's been well over a year.
