You have interstitial Cystitis....lining in your bladder is week and strong acidic liquid like Whisky will irritate it and the nerves are connected to the tip of our penis. Try taking "Prelief" before you drink any alcohol which is sold at Walgreens . This helps. Go see a Urologist to make sure its not so severe....

Maybe it's IC, maybe not. I have seen two urologists and they have run every test they can think of. They both said I do not have IC. They also agree that they have no idea what's going on inside my bladder.

I am 24 female and experience the exact same symptoms
It didn't start happening to me until my last uti but now ever since it's gotten better, whenever I drink I feel it almost instantly and then after the first drink it goes away. I thought I still had a uti but I don't...If I have a heavy night drinking I feel it the next day but it does go away. Hopefully someone can figure this out:/

I am also 21 and female and yours is the most similar scenario I have come across. Without fail I have these awful burning sensations through the day when I urinate and just generally sitting the day after I have consumed alcohol what is wrong with us ?

I'm really glad to read this thread, as I'd thought this quick reaction to alcohol was completely crazy. I've had this problem about 2 years after a tear in my abdomen, ( no idea why) and then a UTI. I've had all sorts of tests as I'd had other pain in the bladder region, but all tests were inconclusive. No obvious interstitial cystitis was found having had a cystoscope, but the urologist said that he would label it 'chronic pelvic pain syndrome' and he . recommended a non prescription tablet (Quercetin) that works as a antihistamine/ anti inflammatory. I think that has helped some, but it's hard to say as other things like stress also impact my pain levels. But nothing has completely taken away the effect of drinking alcohol, so my method has been to abstain, and hope any agitation/ reaction will gradually decreas. I hoping whatever has caused this reaction may gradually reduce when I try alcohol again one day, but from other comments that doesn't seem to be the reality! I think I may try and purchase Prelief via Amazon to see if that changes anything.

I have had this problem for quite some time, I am afraid that there are apparently so many reasons for it to occur, however, without looking to hard an answer had fallen into my lap. If you get this burning sensation it helps by sitting on the toilet like you are taking a dump, then I noticed a white substance coming out, sometimes chunky but not that chunky, then I recently started worrying about my pornographic addiction and tried to see how other people deal with it. I then stumbled upon articles about seminal leakage and exhaustian and what not. Very interesting read. struggling to keep an erect penis during sex and all sorts of "problems" I didn't even realize I have. Give it a read and you might find your answer, Hard to admit, but I think the culprit here is over masturbation, don't get me wrong, I know it sounds far fetched, but it's all connected. Give it a read. I only get the burning sensation when I consume alcohol, that is also the only time my seminal leakage occurs, I do have a bit of a masturbation problem... Daily at least once... And I will soon be trying to abstain in order to have a more healthy sex life and also a healthier social lifestyle instead of hiding the pain from my friends while drinking. i hope I have helped some of you. I am a 49 year old female and I have the same reaction to alcohol. It is so very painful that it isn't worth it to even have a sip of anything. It has gotten progressively worse in the past few years. I wish I could decompress/relax like most folks but unfortunately, it doesn't make sense.

I posted this before, but perhaps some of you missed it. Ask your doctor if you can try Elmiron. Elmiron is used to treat interstitial cystitis, and although two different urologists have told me I do not have IC, Elmiron has provided about 75-80% relief. Sometimes I can even drink a beer without squirming out of my seat.

I have the same issue! It is almost impossible to have a burning sensation 'downstairs' within 30 seconds of drinking alcohol but that is exactly what happens to me. It happens with the first drink then fades but if I drink too much the next day I have burning the entire day. I have just avoided alcohol for this reason but do enjoy wine so it seems a shame. I thought that it might be a yeast overgrowth issue..I have no other symptoms but am allergic to mold and pencillin.

I am from Germany but since i couldnt find anything on german websides I tried it in english and here we go. I have had reaccuring UTIs since I was about 20 (31 now). But I do feel this burning sensation excluded to the opening of my urethrea opening throughout the day. The pain is different to an UTI (not as intense) but i do feel it about 3 hours a day. The pain becomes most intense with alcohol consumption. I expirienced the pain right after the first sip as well as the whole next day. The only real thing that helps is drinking plenty of water, once I feel my bladder fill up the pain disappears like nothing happened, even tho the pain can be quite intense. Last year I had a stomach flu and due to the diarreah and vomitting I lost a lot of fluid. Immediately the burning came back and was very intense. This can be very frustrating especially since sometimes you cannot hydrate that fast after a night out and sometimes your stomach is upset so you cant even consume that much water. The pain has also lead to a very high frustration and depressions since no doctor ( and I tried many) seem to know whats going on. Also regular pain killers have no effect, so for now I have no other choice but to deal with it and hope one day I will find out whats wrong with me :(

Hey there. I also have a very low resting heart beat at 36bpm which means I have what you have I reckon as what you described sounds similar to me ! Puts the fear in me to drink alcohol, have you figured out if there is any remedy or do you have to grind it out u til it passes?
