I can’t believe there is so many posts about this and I am just coming across it. I am a 25 year old female and I tend to get this problem with alcohol usually within the first few minutes of my first drink, sitting on the pan and attempting to pee helps for a bit but after 10 mins or so it comes back. I will also wake up through the night after a night of drinking with the burning sensation. Downing a litre of water and a hot bath tends to help the burning. I also get this if I have drank sugary juice so only recently have I realised this and cut out sugary juice all together but I need to drink loads of water every day now and it seems to be the only thing that can help prevent it. I have IBS and the burning seems to get worse If I’m having an IBS flare up. I was wondering if any of you on this have IBS and have this problem? It can totally ruin my day / night when this happens. Sometimes it comes on when I’m sitting at my desk in work and it’s so irritating and sore it could bring me to tears. Doctor doesn’t seem to understand or to care either.

Hey. I am also a 25 year old female and I have this too. I have IBS though so when I am having a flare up the burning seems to get worse and be brought on by this. Have you ever checked to see if you may have Ibs too or do you have any symptoms that makes you think you might? It could be this that’s affecting you!

40yr old female, I get the exact same sensation as discribed by everyone else after only a few minutes. The really strange thing for me is 5yrs ago I suffered a spinal cord injury and I am numb to the touch from my waste down on the right side. So before my injury when ever I consumed an alcoholic drink my vagina would burn and ache. After my injury only the right side (the numb side) burns and aches! If anyone goes to the Dr's about this please show them this thread of everyone experiencing the same.

I also have this issue. I am a 25 year old female. I've had 30+ UTIs in the last 4 years (I need to see a gyno about this, but that's besides the point) and I get frequent yeast infections. Almost as soon as I take my first sip of alcohol, I start to feel a burning sensation like a Yeast Infection or the beginning of a UTI. it goes away after an hour or two. I've tried eating yogurt to help, but it still takes 30 minutes - an hour to go away. I have a slow metabolism, so I do not believe it's a reaction from the bloodstream. I wonder if it could be a connection between the tongue and the genitalia?

I have had this happening for the last 6 months. Gyno said to take a probiotic but no help. Did you ever get any answers?
