There are blood tests for MS, because I had them in October at the same time that my lumbar puncture was being done. They did an India Ink preparation test and a Cryptococcal Antigen detection test. They are searching for oligoclonal bands in your spinal fluid. I had one of the bands present, but my neurologist and the leading MS specialist ruled it out at this point because they believe there should be at least 12 bands present before giving that diagnosis. Because I did have one present however, the specialist wants my neurologist to perform the lumbar puncture again in one year, in case the bands have just started to form. I did have an MRI done in August, where white matter lesions were present.

Fibromyalgia can't become ms nor can it work the other way. Although the symptoms do mimic each other they are not comparable in the slightest. My dad has ms and I have fibromyalgia. He goes in remission while I battle daily. The best thing is look at the triggers ms flares come and go no matter what. Fibromyalgia a HUGE trigger if not the main one is stress cold temperatures lack of sleep.etc. fibromyalgia is made worse by the environment inside and outside the body. Kinda hard to see how something like ms could drastically change into fibromyalgia. Although I do sympathies having asked the exact same question. I have been on every one of the pills that you can get for the nerve pain for fibromyalgia. And I am allergic to every single one. CBD oil 750 milligrams however that works. I've been on Vicodin for 15 years why all of a sudden are they worried about me being addicted?doctor
