Hello,
I dealt with tubal factor infertility for several years. I got married in 2008, we waited until 2010 to try to have a baby. The first time we tried, I got pregnant. We were so excited, but that came crashing to a halt when we found out that it was ectopic. I had surgery to have it removed, then I got my tubes checked, and was told that it was okay to try again. Within six months, I was pregnant again. It was another ectopic pregnancy. I had the methrotrexate shot to dissolve the pregnancy. Emotionally, I was a wreck, so my husband and I waited until 2012 to try again. The first time we tried, I got pregnant!! My numbers were rising normally. When I went to the doctor, he told me to think positive. He felt that the pregnancy was in the right place, and he even said, "I've never met anyone who has had 3 ectopic pregnancies in a row---you have a better chance of being struck by lightening!" I was encouraged. After my ultrasound, I was rushed to the hospital because it was ANOTHER ectopic (three within 18 months). They did emergency surgery and removed BOTH of my tubes because this one nearly killed me.

My husband and I were devastated. We totally took a break on the baby thing. I focused on my career, and so did he. We traveled--took some awesome vacations, and we bought a house!!!I never gave up my baby dreams, I just put them on hold for some mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual healing that I really needed. In late 2013 we started researching fertility treatments. I went to see a few reproductive endocrinologists. Each one of them told me that IVF was my only option. They all agreed that my doctor made the right decision by removing both tubes because you don't want to pay all of that money for IVF and still get an ectopic. We researched our insurance plans and saved. In April/May of 2014, we did ONE round of natural cycle IVF, and it worked. We also only had one embryo implanted, because we did NOT want more than one baby. We were really on a wing and a prayer. In early 2015, we welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the world!!
Stay prayerful, and hopeful. One tidbit of advice, stay off of these websites looking for whether or not it happened naturally. Everything happens when God wants it to happen. These websites will STRESS you out, which is horrible for your body when you are TTC.

Hello to all the ladies on here. First of all I want to say Im sorry for what you are going through and I understand your pain and confusion, as well as holding on to any hope there may be. I have lost five pregnancies, 4 were ectopic, one miscarriage. I had to have both tubes removed and now can only get pregnant through IVF. I am also a nursing student and know the unfortunate truth we must all face, physically there is no way to naturally get pregnant without fallopian tubes. But there is hope through IVF, I know its expensive, which is also why I have not gone through it yet, but will save as long as I need to for a chance. I am also going into reproductive nursing because of what I have went through so I can help and comfort women like me and all of you. Please don't lose hope, but also know without tubes the ONLY way is through IVF. Good luck to you all.
