I need your advice. I’ve started running in order to decrease my weight. It works fine for the time being and I really feel better. The only problem I have is with my periods which are very painful and with excessive bleeding. I’m wondering whether these problems can be caused by long runs. I don’t exhaust myself but I do run at least three times a week for an hour. What should I do?

You should see your doctor because you might have caught a cold which caused ovarian inflammation or a little cyst. This is not dangerous. It’s only unpleasant. Running can’t cause excessive bleeding, but it if you have an inflammation or a cyst it can prompt the symptoms. There are various medications, some of which are herbal. If it turns out that you have one of these problems, your doctor may advise you to make a pause in your training schedule until the problems disappear. You should take care about what you wear when you run, because if you run in light clothes when it is cold, that can lead to ovarian problems not to mention rheumatism and similar disorders.
