Can you ever get rid of a keloid grown from the pierced ear cartilage?

ahi all,

I have been a licenced body piercer and tattoo artist for coming on three years now,

iam still a newbie but i want to say one thing. keyloids are not the result of an akward

piercing unless the place, tools, and jewlery wernt properly sterilized. if u think about it

your body really doesnt care about the placement a hole is a hole. a keyloid is formed when

bacteria gets into the wound and white bloodcells build up to fight the infection thats why

for a little while you can drain the sac. however after months of this build up sitting in the ear.

it turns to scar tissue and no longer is it a matter of soaking, salting, or oiling because

the tissue is there to stay unless more serious procedures are pursued.

iv had them before and i clean it when i get out of a shower. you should massage it gently and clean with saline solution. but if it doesnt go away go to your local tattoo shop. they can pop it for you and it shouldnt effect your piercing

Had keloids on both ears suffered for 12 years or more, got so bad doctors sent me to cancer doctor, had dermatias so bad on both ears had to had plastic surgery, lost a lot of the bottom part on both earlobs, never can wear earrings again, been 3 years so far so good never came back.

problem now i have had foot surgery on both feet i now have keloids between baby toe keep getting larger went from full-time to working 3hrs a day because of it, i am a black female 57 dont know what to do now have anyone out there haveing this problem with keloids?

How long did you have the keloid when you did this. I've had mine for over a year and I did the injection but I can't keep constantly going back to get it.

I developed a smaller keloid shortly after a tragus piercing. There was no infection or tenderness, just an ugly, soft, red lump right next to the piercing. I tried scraping the whole thing off with a sharp knife and applying alternating tea tree oil and hydrocortisone ointment several times daily. It healed up nicely and the bump was gone... for about a month. Then it came back exactly the same size & color as before and I tried an over-counter wart freezing compound to freeze it off. This was also effective, but again after time it returned. I tried freezing it again and this time it had no result. I decided my body was just not happy with a piercing in this location and thought maybe it rubbed wrong while sleeping or something so took the piercing out. During the process the keloid seemed to rupture and drain all it's fluid. It's healing nicely now and looks like the keloid is gone (keeping my fingers crossed). I have several other cartilage piercings in both ears that I've had for many years with no trouble, so not sure what the deal is with this one??

how long does it has to stay heated ? do you wet it first ? how long to hold it on the keloid ? and do you use just any random tea bag ?

hieee ya i have a 4 keloides scarry rite but luvky for me thier inside my ear thier slowly dissapearin but u can wash ur keloid with water and saltand put alchole on ur hands anytime u are tochin it hop it work sorry for spellin mistakes i can be bothered hon how i spell things :P

i pierced my ears two years ago for the very first time, and keloid started growing, but mine was inside i went to a dermo he injected it but it still didnt go down, soo my mom take me to the surgeon and they perform a procejure on my ears one of my ears the keloid never grow back, but the other one started growing but itsss not biggg, so i start monthly injection with steroid. im happpppppyyyyyy it didnt came back on one of my earsss, all the doctor has to do now is make sure the other one doesnt come back. BUT IM PUTTING ALL MY TRUST IN GOD. <3

its probably a little late now, but I recently got a keloid on one of my lobe peircings.. the lady I spoke to in the piercing store told me to get a flannel and run it under really hot water, then apply pressure to the keloid with it. It worked for me :)
