I got my ears pierced at 9 years old. Keloids grew on both of my ears around 10 or 11 I believe. I had them removed when I was 13. Haven't gotten my ears pierced since. They have not grown back.

I had one a couple years ago on my ear, I got about 4 injections of steroids in 5 months then had it surgically removed.  It has never come back thankfully, and I will never wear earrings again.

Oh my god. You people are really uneducated on piercings. Firstly, keep in mind that any piercing on average (especially cartilage) takes time to heal (the average healing time is 6months). Secondly, there are very few shops that are actually certified with the app, because people just assume piercing is easy. Its not. You're messing with people's bodies, there are tons of things you have to be careful with. Its normal to have swelling even two, three months after. Even when healed, its normal for it to get agitated....especially if you're wearing shitty, cheap jewelry. Make sure you have implant grade titanium or niobium jewelry. These are most compatible with thw human body. A lot of "surgical steel" is mixed with different metals and a lot of times people don't realize what's in it. So, get good jewelry and according to the american piercing proffessionals, only use warm salt water soaks, a lot of soaps can be harsh so avoid them. Let your body heal itself at its own pace!

I am aware that there is a study being done in Flowood Mississippi that has verrrrry promising results. Three more subjects are needed to complete the study (true medical research study) and it is free to participants (a 50$ gas card is offered for travel at each visit) but you have to be able to go to the office at one week, two weeks and one month. If anyone lives near Jackson MS, you can email me and I will send you the information if you are interested. Thank You.

Sea salt only. I've seen one person say quarter teaspoon in a cup of warm water, probably warm as you can comfortably stand it).

You have a better description of what to do. Crushed garlic or just garlic in general.

my doctor told me that one of the effects if getting a keloid cut is that it can grow back bigger however some ppl are lucky enough to not have another one grow back but that does not mean the same for everyone

I am getting surgery in 2 days and cannot wait for this ugly thing to go away. My doctor, however, told me that there are chances of it growing again, but we will do monthly injections of that steroid.

Hello, I guess you were lucky. I have a Keloid next to my piercing on my ear, I had it removed about 6 months ago and it's back. I went to my doctor and he prescribed steroid tape, I just started using it and will be monitoring the growth of the keloid. Everyone's body isn't the same and most Keloids when removed, grows back.
