I know this thread is from over a year ago but I've used eos burts bees and the Chapstick brand and each time I've had a moderate reaction to it I had really swollen lips like when someone does the lip challenge bumps itching burns. I think might be allergic to lanolate which is in both Chapstick brand and burts bees . With the eos I think they are leaving things out of their ingredient list.

That's exactly how I woke up this morning and in the night, itchy, dry, swollen lips like I walked through the dessert last night. I put this new 3 pack tropical chap stick on before bed and woke up miserable! Still miserable!

This is exactly what is happening to me! I have used it for years, without a problem, but suddenly I have the above symptoms.

I have the same problem with carex strawberry and Vaseline. My bottom lip swells up and I struggle to close my mouth. It usually goes in a few hours but sometimes if I get it bad it takes about a day. But there's nothing to worry about. I usually just put a bit of germoline on it.

I have been using burts bees for the past 4ish years and on Tuesday night I had the worst reaction. My lips were really dry so I applied it before bed and fell asleep, woke up in the morning my lips were super inflamed (double their normal size) and I had a red rash all around my lips (looked like Pash rash). Today is the second day and I woke up to a blister in the corner of my mouth and lots of little blisters around my bottom lip. I would love to post a photo but can't. I am in a lot of pain - also have just been applying paw paw so hopefully it helps, but can anyone tell me how long it takes to fully heal?

Patch testing for contact allergens will tell you exactly what, in the product you've been using, you're allergic to. This type of testing is very useful because once you've identified the causative agent/chemical, you can avoid it in all future products you might use. This can be done by an allergist or dermatologist.

I had the same reaction recently after one application of the Burts Bees original Chapstick. The next morning I had a blister at the corner of my mouth and it was itchy and crusty, with clear liquid oozing out. Took a week for it to heal. I also had similar reaction with the EOS lip balm. At first I had no idea it was the lip balm and the dermatologist put me on medication for 3 months. When I came off the meds the crustiness came back. By trial and error I realized it was the EOS lip balm, which must have a common ingredient with Burts Bees

hey. over winter break I had an allergic reaction to chapstick mixed with the sun. It made my lips look botox and we went to the doctor and she said I'm allergic to chapstick. She told me to try Aquaphor. It healed in the first couple of days. That's the thing that works better.

Well, I think we can add Chapstick Candy Cane to the list. I woke up with the same reaction all of you are talking about from Burt's Bees. I never use Chapstick, rarely have a need to, but had to yesterday. Lips now hurt, have the little bumps in the corners of my mouth ... But I think it really is where it hit the skin, not the actual lips. Sigh.

I used "Chapstick Peppermint" brand one day ago. The next day my lips were swollen and I had little bumps all over my lips. It looked like I just had lip injections!!!

I have had bad reactions to burts bees, aquafina lip balm and eos chapstick, the only one I have ever used that didn't cause a reaction was the blistex lip medex. I think the problem that could be causing us all this issue is the peppermint in these chapsticks and bees wax.

I used Burts Bees lip balm last night and today I have sore, irritated and swollen lips. Burt's Bees Lip Balm with Vitamin E and Peppermint was the product I used.
