Users comments and reviews on article Tanning Addiction – Tanorexia And Melanotan by Dr. Shelley Narula
It is good to get the word out about the potential dangers of using unlicensed and unregulated drugs (like the melanotan peptides) but this should be done as accurately and as factually as possible.
This article covering "melanotan" (not even mentioning the fact that there are indeed two melanotan peptides) is highly lacking.
Each peptide has it's own spectrum of scientifically document side effects.
The most renown version of the two is the so-called "Barbie drug" known as Melanotan II owing to the fact that it solely has sexual and libido enhancing effects.
This article has relied upon the DailyMail as a source for side effects.
The DailyMail is a hopelessly unscientific source given to sensationalization and the spreading of misconceptions.
If SteadyHealth.com (and the doctor writing this article) hopes to ever achieve recognition as a reliable source of information concerning health matters then it's advisable that reliable sources of information corresponding to the information being presented is drawn upon.
Any articles that are covering scientific or medical topics at minimum should be sourcing from medical or scientific journals and/or mecdicaly / scientific practitioners who are competent for the field of the topic being covered.
This article fails to mention that fact that melanotan-1 (under the generic name "afamelanotide") in implant form is currently undergoing human trials in numerous countries throughout the world and has just recently been approved for human trials in the United States for sufferers of EPP.

The peptides are not "injected into one's stomach" but are injected subcutaneously (just under the skin) in the region of the belly. This is identical to the way in which diabetic sufferers inject insulin.
As well this article fails to mention that in the United Kingdom and the United States it is not illegal to either posses or use the peptides. What is illegal in these countries it the sales of the peptides as medicinal drugs.
Please step up to the plate in your coverage of the phenomenon of the melanotan peptides and do your proper research and due diligence in presenting information about this.
