I had a surgical (vacuum aspiration) abortion on August 17th. Everything seemed normal, and I pretty much stopped bleeding 2 weeks after. Now starting yesterday it looks like I am spotting a little bit, and there has been a few SMALL clots, that were dark brown. The blood has mostly been brown, but there has been a little red blood as well. I did not start taking birth control, and had unprotected sex the 28th of Aug. Ive also had unprotected sex 4 more times since then. Always using the pull out method. My 3 week check up appointment was today but the clinic told me not to worry about coming back, and to take a home pregnancy test. If it came back negative then everything was okay, but if its positive to call them back. I took one this morning and it came back positive, is it possible I could already be pregnant again? or is it more likely that the pregnancy hormone still remains in my body? I don't feel any signs of being pregnant again. Its been exactly 3 weeks and 2 days since the procedure.
it is possible that you could be pregnant. it only takes one ovulation to get pregnant and if you have been having sex (the pullout method doesnt always work) then you could be. it is very very uncommon to get a false positive pregnancy test. go to the doctor and see what they say
