I am 26 years old and about 2 1/2 months ago I had a hystorectomy and since the surgery I had pleumonia twice within 7 weeks out of surgery and then I had to go to the E.R. because I was having severe chest pain to the point that I could't breath. The doctors dont know what was causing it and the paremedics said that their heart monitor was showing activity but they didnt know what it was. I am still having chest pain and at times it gets bad to the point I start coughing and sometimes feel as though I cant breath right. If I get upset or stressed out the pain gets worse. It is located right in the middle of my chest between the breast area. I saw a primary care doctor and he thought I had asthma but turned out I didn't. He then just said he didn't know what was going on and called me "a puzzle". The primary doctor wouldn't run any additional tests or anything. I am so frustrated and this hasn't been the first time I have had problems with my chest in my life. This round that I have had problems though has been worse than before. When I was 16 and 19 years old I was told that I had an abnormal heart beat. I called to make an appointment with a cardiologist and they said that they would call me back about making an appointment since they had to check and see if I would need a referal. If anyone can help me out that would be great. Thanks.

I too suffer from the same problems...I've had chest pains on and off for 9 months and a high heart rate along with a bunch of other symptoms.  I've seen tons of doctors and had a million tests done and told that everything is normal.  I've been diagnosed with anxiety and I want to believe that all my symptoms are GAD but I just can't.  It's so hard to live a normal life when you worry that every day is your last and that the drs are missing something. :/

I have been dealing with a deep ache/pain in my left pec area. Being treated for thoracic outlet syndrome and something called pec minor syndrome. Look it up. See if any of the symptoms sound familiar. Especially if the cardiac tests have all come back normal.

I too have also had a constant aching pain in my right upper chest. I have been to the ER where they did a chest x-ray and an EKG, both came back normal. The chest pain used to come and go and it would be on either side. Now, it is constant in my right side for the last 4 days and will come and go on my left side. I also visited my primary and when he listened to me he thought I sounded fine. He did however draw some blood to check for a thyroid issue or iron deficiency, he said the chest pain could be secondary to another health issue such as the thyroid or iron definiciencies. I should know the results today. I was also prescribed Dexopin for anxiety because I do believe that I have anxiety, the medication is prescribed PRN. However, when I took the medication for the first time last night when my chest pain began to get worse and I felt uneasy I did not notice much of a difference. I am also afraid that the doctors may have missed something and I am not sure if I should go back to the ER or not? This is making me a crazy, nervous wreck.

You should keep your religious beliefs to yourself. Telling someone to become a muslim when they have chest pain is not appropriate.

I have frequent pains that come and go. They always start out on the left side of my chest, and slowly send a cold tingling sensation down the left side of my arm. The only way I've found to alleviate this is to lay flat on my back, and take small light breaths in attempt to relax, or calm myself. It can last anywhere from 30 seconds, to 5 minutes. It always feels the same, a burning sensation. I have a fear of hospitals and doctors offices. So I don't go. But I know I need help. It's why I'm here. I need to know if I can fix this without seeking professional help?

It MAY be nothing but anxiety but I think you should get it checked out to be sure. It could be a heart problem that could make you disappear from the earth and you don't want that.

Acid reflux also gives you similar feelings which they can test for easily.

If I had stayed home 17 years ago when I had a strange back ache, I wouldn't be here today. So please get it checked out.

I used to be afraid of those places too but they aren't scary any more, they are really quite nice to you and comforting. Not at all like they were when I was a kid in the 40s.

I've had pain, faint at times and sharp at others, in my chest for a long while now. In the beginning the pain was on the right, over time it moved to the middle and now it's middle/ left. In he beginning I got checked out in an ER where I was kept overnight for observation, monitored and had a stress test. All of which showed a healthy heart, however, the pain remained and has progressively gotten worse over time. I was reading about a Texas Governer who had constant heartburn/ chest pain and she was diagnosed with esophical cancer. This scares the hell out of me! I'm 45 years old and in pretty good shape. Thoughts, comments and concerns?
