You and your daughter's symptoms sound very similar to those I had a little over a year ago. However, I was diagnosed with H. Pylori and an ulcer (both of which have since subsided.) I was also diagnosed with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) which the gastroenterologist said was the cause of most of my symptoms. He put me on a high fiber diet and told me to limit my caffeine intake (was drinking 4-5 cups of coffee each morning.) He also suggested cutting back on dairy, as that is hard to digest and therefore irritates the IBS.
Hope this helps some :D

hi,
to all of you who are suffering with unexplained nausea, i would ask that you consider the following possibilities.
.gastroparesis. a gastric motility disorder. the stomach wall or the pacemaker of the stomach that coordinates the contractions in the stomach needed to digest food is injured (usually in diabetics but can occur in other instances too), so food is retained a lot longer than usual; causing nausea (especially after eating), excessive belching, bloating, and pain. a gastric emptying study can help diagnose this problem. for mild cases, diet modification and prokinetics (drugs that increase the motility of the gut) can help alleviate the above symptoms. In more severe cases, botox injections into the pyloric sphincter muscle that allows food to drain out of the stomach into the small intestine, and a surgical implantation of a gastric pacemaker.
. food allergies/intolerance/sensitivity worth undertaking an extensive food allergy test or elimination diet to see if this is contributing to your problem.
. is it leaky gut? quite a lot written on it if you google this one. in some articles has been linked to the development of gastroparesis/motility disorders. i would do an intestinal permeability test to diagnose gut damage, a functional liver detox test that will identify if there are any specific problems with the way the chemical pathways are functioning. ie a recent liver function test suggested that one of my pathways is not functioning correctly (the one that metabolises hormones and drugs and alcohol) because of a deficiency in glutamine. this can cause significant nausea. next you should to a functional stool analysis over three days to identify parasites, candida, and malabsorption issues.
. the next step is to heal the gut, work on the liver, and any other organs affected by the leaky gut, kill the bad bugs, put the good bugs back in, correct any nutritional deficits that might exist.
in the meantime, google 'dai kenchu tou'. it is a japanese herb that is the subject of research at the moment for its ability to increase motility of the upper digestive tract.
if anyone wants to contact me, feel free to email me at _[removed]_
i am a 42 year old australian woman, who has been suffering with daily nausea for the past six months. i have been on a medical merry go round for that time, and completely and utterly understand and sympathise with any of you for the frustration, amount of suffering, debility that chronic nausea and vomiting can bring, robbing you of your former quality of life.
there is hope.
dont give up.

over the past 2 years i have been experiencing the SAME EXACT symptoms, anxiety and all. and have gone to many many doctors and have gotten many tests, but everything has come back fine. after a while none of my doctors believed me and said i was "depressed" and it was all in my head. i was only 16 at the time and had good grades, in an advanced show chior and had many friends.. there was no way i was depressed. after a long time and a bunch of new doctors i was diagnosed with Fribromyalgia and was given many medicines along with physical theropy. for the past year and a half its been working great, but over the past few months all of my symptoms have come back again and i feel like im starting all over. its not that i "want" something to be wrong with me, i just want answers. im starting to believe i never had fibromyalgia and they just diagnosed me with it to "shut me up". its effecting everything, my school, my job and my relationships with friends and my boyfriend and especially my appetite, iv lost 10 pounds in the past 2 weeks because i throw up everything and i cant even look at food, which im a tiny girl to start with, weighing only 119lbs and now im down to 109,so i look gross. so i feel all of your pain and youre not alone! %-) 0

This is so frustrating. I thought that perhaps since a couple other people on here have had the same problem as me, then maybe someone would have some answers, but no such luck. It started happening to me maybe 4-6 months ago, and it has gotten progressively worse. Constant belching, feeling nauseous for the majority of my days, bad headaches, and now most recently I've been experiencing a lot of anxiety. Of course, I get the same responses from people, "It's probably stress." or "Maybe you're pregnant." No and no. Another weird thing is that I have had problems with chronic yeast infections over the past couple of years, but the doctors didn't know why. I had my gall bladder removed in October 2007 after self diagnosing myself. I saw multiple GI doctors, made two visits to the ER, and still no one could tell me why I, a 26 year old girl in excellent physical condition who works out regularly and eats healthily and no other health problems could possibly have gall stones so bad that it required an immediate surgery after they finally discovered I was right about the gall bladder problem.
This is NOT acid reflux, and I am so tired of hearing that one too...almost as tired as I am of hearing that I am stressed or pregnant. :-(
Please, please, does anyone have any ideas? Jokinly, my fiance has said that maybe I have a tapeworm. Does anyone think that's too far-fetched? I do eat more than he does, work out less, and still stay very thin. I simply don't know what to do, and doctors don't seem to have any brilliant ideas. :-(

Funny how I was just searching to see what causes constant nausea and I found this post, unfortunately we're all suffering.
Has anyone considered parasites? Gross and no nausea is not a common symptom but... you never know. Just thought I would through that out there.

I have the same exact problems as you describe. It's going on 5 months now and is extremely irritating. I have had every test done I think you could imagine. Today my GI said I may have IBS and I was dx with GERD a cpl months ago. Some helpful things I have found on the internet include: AVOID dairy, coffee, alcohol, fat foods, chocolate, pepperment, tomatoes, citris fruits and drinks, carbonated drinks, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, brussel sprout, and smoking. Eat at least 2 hours before bed. Eat small meals. And if you're looking for a natural remedy you can try apple cider vinegar. Hope this helps.

Hey you all who are curious about this: Have you recieved an allergy test for any food you're eating? Keep a food diary for two weeks to see if something hurts really bad after you eat something that you didn't notice before. I had this exact situation, for SEVEN MONTHS. It got worse day by day until I ended up in the hospital for almost two full months last year. It turns out I have Celiac's Disease, which can be diagnosed at any time because symptoms suddenly occur (I literally woke up on a Monday feeling awful and didn't get better for seven months; dry heaving at food in the morning, really nauseous and anxious because a food allergy has a lot of side affects, including psychological). It is an allergy to gluten, wheat, rye, barely, oats and any derivative thereof. I didn't realize it until very late in my illness, simply because almost 90% of American food has a form of gluten in it. I would suggest this. You could be allergic to Pectin (in apples and used as an acid), or something else that you don't realize. I was diagnosed with the following before I was finally accurately diagnosed: Abdominal infection, Stomach Flu, IBS, Stess-Induced IBS (valium and IBS medication along with anti-depressants prescribed for me; I RAN), Galbladder (surgically removed). I lost over 90 lbs. As for the above list of avoidance: Dairy (lactose intolerance; food allergy) some coffees, especially flavored coffees and syrups have gluten in them, alcohol is made through distilled grains and has gluten in them, fat food generally have gluten (cheeseburger usually has bread crumbs, bun, ketchup, mustard, pickles and some meats are injected with gluen seasoning), I don't know anything bad about chocolate, tomatos have something you could be allergic to in them, citris fruits and drinks because of Pectin, carbonated drinks because most have gluten in them (food coloring such as caramel coloring has gluten in it), I don't know about the vegetables, especially dark ones, as they help with digestive problems, smoking because there is gluten on the wrapping paper to keep the paper sticking together. Apple Cider Vinegar is one alternative to distilled white vinegar (which 99% of the time is distilled through a grain and has gluten in it) but others include White Wine Vinegar and Balsamic Vinegar. Good luck!

I think that's some good advice. A lot of peopel dont' consider allergies but that's one of the leading causes of stomach issues so you really do need to track what you eat. I think that's pretty useful information. What does everyone think?

i had terrible nausea and bloating and belching for ages. sometimes it totally incapacitated me! Interfered with my social life, my work life!
Went to doctors, had various tests done, came back negative, felt like i was making the symptoms up but beleieve me thay are REAL!
Anyway........... decided to cut out ALL dairy products and sugar, now have goats milk but in small amounts, bloating at last seems to be under control, only occasional bouts of nausea when i have inadvertently eaten something i should not have.
Dont know if this will help anybody out there, but i had to sort this out myself and, so far, am much better than i was!

Hi there, it sounds like you are lactose intolerant! Goat's millk has virttually no lactose so that's probably what the case is. Has anyone else investigated this option?

To the wife, mother, teacher, etc. .... all of your symptoms sound just like mine. Recommend a quick visit to your internist or primary dr. for confirmation but as others have noted .... these are all symptoms of GERD. Which left untreated, esp. once it becomes as serious as yours, can lead to other complications and even more discomfort for you. I take a simple pill daily .... then I get lazy, it wears off and I have to start all over. While you're waiting for your dr's appt. try Prevacid (I think it's called) -- over the counter. It helped me for a while but eventually I had to make the appt and you should go, it's worth the relief (and eventually your burping will be alleviated as well). Good luck! :-P

I have astigmatism so I often to get headaches and most of the time migraines as my mother does. But here recentlly I have been waking up with headaches it seems like every other day. Often followed by nausea to the point where I sometimes get dizzy and feel I'm going to get sick. I've had a CT scan and nothing abnormal showed up. I'm just curious if anyone has any insight to put my mind at ease to what might be causing me to feel so sick all of the time.

Hi, there~
I have the symptoms of 'moving gut burn' (from upper to middle to lower to entire abdomen and side), along with nausea, diahrrea, vomiting, sweats and chills, fatigue, with NO fever. I was diagnosed with fibro years ago and those are NOT the general symptoms, so my feeling is you were quite possibly misdiagnosed...but then why did the meds work for awhile? I feel sorry for all of us that the medical community cannot seem to help us! That is why I am reluctant to even go to a doctor; spend thousands of dollars I don't have and still don't get an answer? Mine came on suddenly after over-celebrating on Valentine's Day, but after 3 days in bed basically not eating I went back to work yesterday feeling fine. After not eating all day, all the symptoms came on within 5 minutes (I thought I was going to faint from the pain and nausea). They lasted until the middle of the night; woke up feeling okay and after a half cup of coffee and small bowl of Special K, they came on again! So it doesn't seem to matter whether I eat or not, it can come on in minutes. I'm researching various things (unfiltered apple cider vinegar, certain enzymes etc.) and will let all of you know the outcome. Oh yes, I highly recommend at least trying the enzyme Bromelein; it has worked wonders for my husband for his pancreatitis, which his mother died of.
