Hello! I am in agreeance with the girl above! I'v been with my boyfriend 4 years now and 3 of them i have had an ongoing water infection! The first one was after about a year of being with him. I went to the doctors and he gave me some antibiotics and sure enough after the antibiotics it went but as soon as we had sex again it brought it back. so i went back to the doctors and he gave me more antibiotics as he said it may not of killed the infection first time round! Yet again it killed the infection but as soon as we had sex it came back! It started to really frustrate me and i could't be bothered to keep going back to the doctors to keep getting the same problem!! BAD MISTAKE!!!!! About 3 months later i woke in the middle of the night screaming in pain! my partner rushed me to hospital where i was wired up to all sorts of different machines to be told after many hours of pain that i had a severe kidney infection! I spent the next couple of days in hospital! I kept asking the nurse why i kept having these water infections. Like most of you have said they kept saying your not drinking enough but i knew there was more to it then that! so after being discharged from hospital i went to get a second opnion! i went to a totally different doctors explained the problem and FINALLY i had an answer! She told me i had something called HONEYMOON CYSTITIS! She explained it is very common for new relationships to get this! Where at the beginning of a relationship you go through your honeymoon period which obviously involves you having sex as many times as you can fit in during the day, after this period has warn off it can leave you with a water infection, which due to having the honeymoon period can leave it as an ongoing water infection! Unfortunality there is not alot you can do to prevent this happening! i can now just deal with it and after 4 years they are more infrequent now and only get them once a month if that!! I hope this is helpful for you!!!!

Water infections are much more common in women because the urinal tube is very close to the vaginal opening. It is very short and very easily irritated. It is much easier to get them after having sex because of all the bacteria that gets in the urethra! One suggestion would be to pee right after you have sex. This would help get rid of the bacteria.

Using a lot of bubble bath is also notorious in causing/worsening water infections. Use bath salts again!

And yes, drink lots and lots of cranberry juice and water and pee as often as you can. Don't ever go holding your pee!

hello...
Same as everybody else on this chat im 17 and get water infections often. im more prone to get them after sex. i pee before and after sex, drink plenty of water and still get them. i also get them in the night which disturbs myself and have even resorted to sleeping on the toilet through lack of sleep. ive given up going the doctors and instead go the walk-in clinic to get antibiotics.. the nurses they actually listen and have given me a list of things that can cause water infections. tight jeans/ pants, not drinking enough water, the way you wipe yourself should always be forward to back, holding in when needing the toilet. They recommend that i should go the doctors and ask for some tests to be done&even the possibilty to go on this antibiotic plan where you are given a lower dose of antibiotics for 6-12months or to take a course of antibiotics everytime you have sex.

I'm only 15, I have had 2 water infections, and I find that they are horrible. Although my doctor has told me to drink plenty, and he has obviously put me on antibotics. I only started to get water infections this year. However the first time I got a water infection, it actually lead to Cystitos, my Mother was concerned as she gets them alot.

I am only just getting over my water infection, and I was in unexplainable pain, it was so much worse than the first one, but my doctor once again gave me antibotics, but said there was no infection, but why would I be peeing blood? But he said that my last antibotics might not of worked the first time and there was still a little bit of infection left. Well, this confused the hell out of me, but I just got on with it.

On the other hand, if you have a water infection or you may think you have one, I would advise you to drinks lots to prevent it from happening, and get it sorted before its too late!

This probably didin't help, but thought I might just share :D
