Constant water infections

I have been getting them since I was 16, I'm now twenty. It has certainly got to a point where I'm affraid to have sex with my boyfriend. I did just leave it and hoped it would go away which is why I'm in this conundrum, a day before my first exam and I have developed a kidney infection. The doctors keep giving me antibiotics but I don't find this a good enough solution as it doesn't prevent anything! One doctor did give me some good advice, yes urinate before and after sex and also it may not be a water infection, it could be an inflamed urethra and the acidic properties of your urine is causing the burning pain. He told me to get a tea spoon of baking soda and mix it with some water and drink it, it's really horrible but works sometimes

I'm glad I read your message because I know exactly what your going through I'm scared to do anything so I just put up with the pain I have atleast 5-6 a month it's a killer but because I'm petrified of doctors I just cope with it or atleast try :( what do I do?

In last two yeah ive had over 40 water infections and 3 kidney infection but i never tol docter all time as they said ther naut wrong till i made them send to hospital i gog anotger infection nw and eberytime havr antibiotics two week later it comes bk and all they say is because got ibs but since was 18 im twentey two and all ive had is infection after infectio. N to painful

hi I had a transobturator tape 21st September 2016 infections after infection drs loads of time they said urine cloudy with blood in but every time they sent it away blood was gone this time I go to hospital 12th December long time tablets they give me I allways take bad ive got infection now since Friday can yo give me a bit of advice x

You might be doing this already but make sure you got for a wee after anything sexual. This helps flush out any potential bacteria in the urinary tract and prevents UTI.
