Hello, folks. I am 57 years old. Recently, I have started to feel severe headaches. After examinations, my doctor suspected on temporal arteritis. What frightens me is that I hear that blidness could occur. Is this true? I would really want to know this. Thanks in advance for all replies. Bye!
Hello. I am afraid that you have heard well. Blindness is a possible to happen in temporal arteritis. However, therapy can help. Especially steroids can help. They can preserve vision in affected eye. They also stop blindness to appear on contralateral eye. You should start your treatment as soon as possible. Talk to your doctor about this. I hope everything will be all right. Bye!
