I've had the exact same thing happening to me negative home test, negative blood test but I'm absolutely feeling movement. Were you pregnant? I have an appt to have an ultrasound next week and will be having the IUD removed. I've just been super stressed the last few weeks.

I was looking for postings from someone like me who's getting close to Mirena's expiration date, but couldn't find many. I will just tell you what's happening to me so that you know you're not the only one in this. I have had Mirena for 4 years and 11 months. I had period until May, had some spotting in June, and didn't have period since then. Breasts tenderness started in June, and I had full symptoms of pregnancy about 2-3 weeks ago. I took a pregnancy test at home yesterday, which was negative. I had sex in mid-June and none after, so I guess the negative result--I hope--can't be false. I think I heard that the hormones decline in the 4th year (but I also read that it still has low level of hormone even after 5 years up to 7 years), and maybe my body is trying to adjust to the hormonal imbalance. But still it's very confusing... It could be menopause--I'm 43 years old--but pregnancy symptoms mean more estrogen than lack of it. My symptoms are not those of menopause, except for the lack of menstruation.

I just wanted to share my experience with everyone. I had a Mirena put in after my 6 week check up with my son March 2014. I had no problem with it at all. My son's father and I continued to have sex unprotected for over a year. Although I don't get periods, I do get a monthly spotting. Just the pre-period brown stuff that comes out. I'm grateful for that because it lets me know that I am safe. Well, I moved in May 2015 to a different state and he stayed home to take care of business. Him and I had sex once in May. We did not have sex anytime in June. We didn't even have sex until the end of July. (Every time I went on I was on my "period") The week of July 13th I started to feel weird. Gassy and real tired. This was weird. I took two pregnancy tests, both came back negative. We has sex July 24th and 25th. That's when stuff got weird. I had these weird flutters in my stomach. I thought I felt a baby move. My breasts were getting bigger. I was bloated. I was freaking out! I took a total of 5 pregnancy test (one at the doctor), and all came back negative. WELL, my monthly "period" came today! I am overly ecstatic! I know for a fact that it was just the hormones in the Mirena. I'm still getting the weird flutters and my breasts are still sore and tender, BUT I am not pregnant! I will be getting a blood test tomorrow to confirm. I just wanted to share my story to put ease to you ladies' minds. MIRENA CAUSES FLUTTERS!

Hi, so I'm a 42 year old single mum of three. Almost 5 year old twin boys (conceived after 14 rounds of ivf) and an almost 2 year old daughter who was conceived completely naturally and quite by surprise. My husband left while I was pregnant with her. That's a whole other story.
Needless to say I do not need or want to fall pregnant again so 18 months ago I had got the merina iud inserted. I had very little pain all the usual bleeding at first for a few weeks but nothing else concerning for a while. I then after about 6 months started getting the worst headaches like Migranes which I have never had before and cramping at the lead up to the period. My period has got lighter and hangs around for longer but never disappeared at all. I have never been regular as in every month, in my life before this anyway.
Well for the first time since my husband left, I have started a relationship and had sex (nothing since conceiving my daughter). Two or three days after I first had sex I spotted and then a week later I had an even lighter than usual period.
Two weeks later (so 5 weeks since first having sex) I am having terrible lower back pain that is burning my butt cheeks and aching in my legs as well. Not to mention sore breasts.
Now this scares me because the last time I felt like this is when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter. Obviously I wasn't expecting it then either given my history with infertility so I didn't test until I was almost 9 weeks. No other symptoms at all.
I did do a home test last week and it was negative but now think I'm being paranoid about it maybe. What is your thoughts?

I thought I was pregnant when I had the mirena but it was just the IUD causing my body to think it was. I had all symptoms. Nausea, crying, moodiness. Everything but I wasn't pregnant but did remove the IUD. However, my friend got prego with it bc the mirena moved out of place. She was 5 mos when she found out. Kept having abdominal pain and did an ultrasound and BAM, you have a baby boy in your belly. I'd suggest seeing your Dr and if you read about the mirena and other users reviews you may not want it at all. I've tried it twice and never again. First-time was 8 yrs ago and I was always in the hospital bc of cysts it kept putting on my ovaries. Good luck dear!

I have had it for 5+ yrs and finally the Dr has time to remove mine. Through out the entire time I've had mirena I have had a period (sometimes twice a month). My home urine test was a light positive and blood test negative so of course dr says I'm crazy... it's been 4 almost 5 months since my last period and have a huge bump (not normal for me at all) it gets so bad I get a bulge (possible arm or leg stretched out) and I rub it and goes down... even having discharge in my breasts (especially if my nephew cries). Now I've never been pregnant so please someone who has tell me, am I crazy like the Dr claims or does this sound like pregnancy?

Were you pregnant? I'm having the same symptoms and I've had the mirena since November 2015 and just started feeling movements this month.

As of yet, no one on this post has been pregnant. They've only had the symptoms of pregnancy and mostly all blood and urine test have been negative. I'm having the same symptoms which is why I'm on the post. I have been to my dr for a blood test and it came back negative. She told me to just keep watch. However, on other post I've seen women be pregnant and not find out until months later that they were pregnant. However, with theirs, they did get a positive test result in the office with blood test. One of the side effects of Mirena are pregnancy symptoms.

I agree. Who would make something to prevent pregnancy and as a side effect it mimics pregnancy symptoms?? Very discouraging. This is my second go around with the Mirena. The first time, I didn't have as much pregnancy symptoms and I didn't have my period for 2 and half or 3 of the five years I had it. This time, I've had a period every month but it's very light. It just stopped out of the blue last month and these strong pregnancy symptoms came out of no where. I thought for sure it was out of place and I've gotten pregnant. Not according to the Nurse Practitioner. I'm sick to my stomach right now. I think I may get my tubes tied after I take it out this time.

Did the Mirena move out of place or your son was born without it? I have had negative urine and blood test but I've never felt this pregnant with the Mirena. Headaches, nausea, eating more, and some flutters. This is my second Mirena and it has been a totally different experience from my first one.

Left upper abdomen is actually quite literally your stomach. It's probably digestion.
