Few days ago I have noticed something really strange, which has never happened to me before. I am having some black vaginal discharge and the other day was experiencing some abdominal cramps. Although this discharge is not really odors it was giving me quite a scare. What could it be, can you tell me any possible reason for those symptoms I have got? Off course I shall visit my gynecologist, but I need to be prepared.

It is probably due to abnormal ovarian functions that produce an abrupt change of the estrogen and progesterone production. Usually that is happening at a very short period of time. For the women with a normal ovarian function, abrupt change of hormone happens during ovulation day and the onset day of the menstrual cycle. For you, the abrupt change happens many times in a day or a week and each change drop your progesterone level enough to product a light spotting, or discharge. As a result, the uterine lining bleeds extremely slowly at an extremely low volume in each abrupt change. That the spotting blood stays long enough to be oxidized and turned to black inside your uterus. As there is enough oxidized blood accumulated inside your uterus, it will be expelled into your vagina for dark discharge with cervical mucus. This is the reason why you get black vaginal discharge.
When the uterus contracts, you get cramps, and if you’re uterine-support ligaments and their adjacent muscles produces a lack of the relaxation and elastic hormone Prostaglandin. The local tissues get no enough DHEA and androstenedione and neurotransmitter acetylcholine for the prostaglandin production.
