A friend of mine had a lump in her neck (above the claivcle) and suspected of thyroid disease. She undergo thyrsoid hormone profile and all the result are normal. But when she underfgo an ultrasound. It show that her left lobe was occupied by cysts and the radiologist advised her to see docotro for possible removal of her thyroid.The result shows like this:
The left lobe is enlarged in size 4.6 x 3 x 2.7 cm , hetrogenic occupied by big cyst ,measured 3.5 x 2.5 cm , with internal echoes and calcification and relatively with ill defined margen and vascularity in periphrical , ???could be big colliod cyst ,
There is another nodular hetrogenic lesion at upper apix measured 1 x 1.2 cm , ill define margen ,less vascular.
Isthmus is hetrogeni , 0.4 thickness.
My friend is very woried about her condition, afraid to have a cancer of the thyroid and removal of her thyroid.
Help please what she need to do....
