I know exactly how you feel, for me the stomach pain was the biggest problem in quitting pot.
I started this thread a couple of years ago. And while i did smoke occasionally since then, i feel as though i have control over it and I'm not addicted anymore.
If you read my earlier posts there are a few ideas on how to overcome the stomach pains. However I did not use any over the counter drugs or medicine.
Everyone is different so I can only give you some pointers, you will have to work out what works for you.
1. Eat what you can, don't eat anything that will make you feel sick.
For me that was salad, raw vegetables and fruit. Cantelope/Rock Melon helped a lot.
2. I saw a chinese herbalist. This was good for me. But I can't guarantee it will work for you.
3. Take the time to quit.
You may have work or other commitments. It took me 2 weeks of doing nothing and just resting and not being around weed or people who smoked. In fact not being near any people is good.
4. Exercise
This can help you sweat and help you rest.
It's really hard at the start. You can try cold turkey, or maybe just smoke less and less over a period of time. I've done it both ways. It was a long process for me. I've quit and started again maybe 6 or 7 times.
Best of luck and just keep at it. Don't give up on giving up

Anyways, end of story.. Onto my pot addiction and withdrawl. Like I said before, if your looking to just try it once think long and hard. Curiosity got the best of me. I couldn't help but sneak in the garage and light up some of my fathers good weed after that. Anyways, ive been smoking for about a month now.. My dad doesn't usually have too much weed, so I frequently buy my own every few days (a 30 dollar bag can last me up to 2 days) so I smoke roughly 3 times a day.
All sounds normal, I guess. But before all this marijuana, I was someone totally different. I was about 175 lbs.. Ripped as hell. Competes as a boxer, and amateur cage fighter (MMA).
Now, due to all the throwing up from withdrawl, I weigh 161 lbs. I haven't been to practice in over a month. My life is completely backwards, I'm a completely different person. I just look at myself everyday and wonder what the hell happened. Weed really will take over your life, spending every last dollar and every last bit of effort/everything you have goes into getting that next little baggie.
Not sure about you guys but I've decided to put a stop to all this.. Its 6:22 AM here in New York, I haven't smoked since roughly this same time yesterday morning. I've been up the entire night reading about how to quit marijuana. It really does take over.. Just watch out, anyone looking to get into it.

actually there IS evidence that pot is physically addictive, and tapering off is what WORKED for me and many others, and btw smoking from a vaporizer wont make any difference AT ALL, thats just a gimmick to get people to buy vaporizers...jeez people...
rubbish show me the facts sayings its addictive you will be a while as there is none, aqnd be its the burning off a joint or in a bong etc that makes weed unsafe vaping it is not a gimmick its fact that vaping is safer than smoking look at the evidence check out the clear website and many other places that you can get the true story tapering off may well have worked for you and might also work for many others what my point is if someone doesnt smoke joints and you tell them thats the way to stop smoking weed what happens when they get addicted to cigs from it ?????
How does smoking joints make a person become addicted to cigarettes?

Our personalities for being an addict make us great people. Strong people. Youll notice that in your friends and loved ones who arent really substance abusers. We have a completely different mind set of our own. We want to do things our way. We wont listen to anyone if it gets in the way of what we want. On top of everything....We will do whatever it takes to get the thing(drug) we want most and still survive. Well..if you choose to survive.
But when you take that energy and put it into something productive? Youre limitless. We starve for intense situations, we are curious and just want to expierence that HIGH feeling in everything we do. Which we can and it doesnt involve any type of substance at all.
If youre in a career that doesnt really care and not hurting anyone physically or emotionally. Then keep doing what youre doing. why not?
But to those who use the last $20 in their bank account to buy a gram till next pay check and then wind up smoking their ashes or scraping that bit of resin off your tools. Its time to stop.
I keep going. Its time to deal with things on your own rather than using something else to help you get by. Dont make it a cructh to help carry your problems. Its a vice holding you back.
But to those who you know grow sell and make a living off it. Go for it!
i have several friends who grow and sell(legallly!!) and have a great life.
But others never learn moderation( like me) and thats a big necessity.
to those like me;
if you want to quit you will for you. REHAB WONT WORK. RELATIONSHIPS WONT WORK.( "I'll quit for you baby," BS when that relationship doesnt work i guarantee a relapse.) PROCRASTINATION, DEFINITELY NOT!
Its your choice. Realize youre a better person without fire and clouds holding you back.
I hope for you brother. You wake up one day a better person.
let me know if im wrong in any way. Or if you need help. Shoot i could have used someone to talk to about quitting. Im just stubborn like most of you all.
