Diabetics, how did you do when handing in your driving licence after being told you could no longer drive on teh roads? I was devastated! How do they expect me to get to the store or to my appointments and go see my grandchildren? I am so upstt about the whole thing11! Has anyone else been in this situation and had to turn in the driving license? I wan to go see my eye doctor and see if he can do anythingn for me. I need to have my license back or I don't now what to do. My kids are not realeible when it comes to helping me out. They much rather do their own thinkg then help their own mother. I guess I will have to do public transportation but I don't feel safe taking the bus in our neighborhood. What have you diabetics done wthen your eyes go bad? Any suggestions on how I can get my licence back so I can drive myself? Maybe I can go to the doctor and see what he says? Prove to them I can see well enough? Please let me know what you think I should do. Please, I need to know. Thank you!!

Hello, I am sorry to hear about your dilemma due to your driver's license being taken away. I believe you should go to your eye doctor and get a thorough eye exam. He/she may be able to find the source of your vision problem and get it taken care of. It could be a cataract that they can remove or glaucoma they can treat with medication. Once the treatment is finished, you can take a document from the eye doctor to the driving license office and give it to them, stating that you are able to drive. Good luck!
Are there others who are having this issue as well? What have you done to get your license back?
