Hi, guys. I had some troubles with opening my eyelids and I went to see my ophthalmologist. I was diagnosed with eyelid apraxia. My doctor recommends me a surgery as a treatment possibility. I would like to know if I will really have to go under this. What can you tell me about this? Thanks.

Hi, there. I have heard about eyelid apraxia. My cousin also had problems with eyelid opening. As far as I know it is mostly associated with blepharospasm. My cousin had to go to surgery. This procedure consisted of myectomy and tightening of levator tendon. After that, she felt better. You should discuss with your ophthalmologist whether this procedure is really necessary. Although, I think there is nothing you should be afraid of. Everything will be fine. Good luck!
