This is normal just as the doctor said. Too bad that they do not have anything helpful to offer beyond that? I have been the same way since I was a teenager and at 43 I still wear tampons every day. There have been no side effects whatsoever. I understand being self concious about it and have always been extra diligent about my hygiene. I do not think that this is any strange imbalance but may be a more sensitive system that is creating extra lubrication and discharge to protect itself. Typically the more active you are the more discharge there is. You wouldn't feel such shame over having a runny nose due to allergies so the same should go for this. I typically use them when I am out of the house and most active and do not wear them at home or at night. Odor is normal too no matter what society is telling you. The best home test for vaginosis is just washing with bar soap. If it smells much worse when using soap see your Dr about some antibiotics for it .

I have the EXACT same issue, it's so uncomfortable all day and it's just wet down there. ew. for a while I thought maybe it was orgasm, because women can be turned on my mutually anything and we wouldn't know it, but after it happened every day since 7th grade I figured I just have a different body. using PANTH LINERS is definitely better than tampons. it kills your risk of TSS, and u won't have to put something up there every day. u won't feel as dry as you would with a tampon, but at least there's something there too soak it up. hope this helped:)!

Wow, I'm so glad I found this! I have the exact same symptoms as the original poster. I'm also 18, since someone said they're 18! I really do not think I have an STD, but I'll go get checked just to rule out that option. It sounds like I should get checked for a bacterial infection or PID... It's really interesting to me that someone said they actually had strep "down there." I never had strep until last semester when I had it twice within two months- which is about when my discharge changed to what it is today!! I've been so busy but I'll have to get into the doc soon! I'm so glad I'm not alone in this!

Im so glad im not the only one. Ive had the same problem. My discharge began in 6th grade also and i used to get yeast infections all the time. Ive been wearing pantiliners every day of my life for almost 10 years... And only wear tampons if im going commando. My doctors have told me that it is completely normal. And also that the vagina discharging is a way of cleaning itself. Nothing to be ashamed of cuz id rather have a wet but clean vagina then a dry and nasty one. Plus when i bring it up to sexual partners ive NEVER had a negative response. They think its hot that im wet all the time. So embrace it girl! Hope this helps

I have the same thing. It's been happening for awhile now. And it's so uncomfortable, especially when I get my period.
But, I noticed before I get my period, the discharge gets heavier, and comes out more then usual. I got tested for std yeast infections. Got treated for yeast infections before, an tests came back negative for std.
Wore panty liners , but got uncomfortable from having to wear them all the time, and got bit of rash from it. Gets so annoying having to change underwear all the time. Can't do activities with the stupid thing coming out, making it feel like I peed my self. So embarrassing. Can't do nothing cause of it. :/

This happens to me too!! Since I was in the 5th grade. Are you sure it can prevent being able to have a child if you wear tampons for your discharge? That's the only way I can last the long college day. Panty liners only work so well, you know? Then they become useless. I also like the ability to have no underwear lines, and using a tampon allows me to not have under wear lines.
I'd like to know more about what your doctor said. Please inform me:)

I think it's a good idea that you see a dermatologist. There is a condition that causes foul odor and discharge and can cause scarring, which you definitely do not want. Just get checked. Good luck!

I suffer from a fishy discharge that comes out on a daily basis. Does a tampon prevent the smell if I use it. I have never used it before

I also use tampons every day for excessive discharge; I've been doing it for probably like 4 years now. I have such a problem with it that even wearing pads every day stopped working. Yes, it kept from ruining my underwear but it didn't help that if I didn't go to the bathroom to clean myself up every other hour (and I promise in not exaggerating) it would feel as if I was walking around with a wet diaper. It was absolutely disgusting. I had to always have a plethora of pads with me at all times, so I completely understand your plight. I've had far more than my share of yeast infections in my life and am well acquainted with the side effects, so I know it's not due to that. And to top it all off, I have also gone to doctors for it and have universally been told that, despite as excessive it is, that my discharge is normal and that, basically, nothing could be done.
So... I haven't had any bad side effects. Also, I hate the opinion that "you don't get wet enough for tampons of your period and will have to pull it out dry" like, no... I still have to change my tampon throughout the day (though never more than once, if that much, thank God) but please take my post with a grain of salt. I'm no doctor and so I may just be lucky. I just thought you might like to hear from someone who's been doing this for an extended period of time.

First of all, if you say that it's not healthy to wear a tampon every day, then don't do it. Plus, having a tampon in while you discharge can cause even more smells and can lead to even MORE infections. I suggest panty liners or pads, they work great for me and my discharge!

Just don't use them when you haven't got you period yet. Then you can and won't get tss.

Try bathing with water that has a few drops of Peppermint oil to help mitigate the odour. I hope this helps!
